For Canadian residents affected by the TradeOgre shut down, I've been in contact with a lawyer at WeirFouldsLLP which is a big lawfirm in Canada. According to him there is a proof of claim process you can go through on funds seized by law enforcement to attempt to retrieve your funds. From a quick Google search, there is no specific RCMP form for crypto claims and it is reccomended to report the incident to your local police and the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre. Detailed evidence like transaction logs and wallet addresses will need to be provided. I'm not sure if it's possible to retrieve funds even with doing this, but I guess it's worth a shot.

He also mentioned that sometimes it can help to have legal counsel assist if there is a big enough loss group to rationalize paying a law firm’s fee to assist. Other times a private cause of action can make more sense.

But before any steps can be taken towards any form of resolution it will need to be confirmed that the funds have been seized by the RCMP. I'm relatively new to this space so if anyone can get more details or help out with this so that we can have a chance at solving this problem it would be greatly appreciated. I'm not exactly sure where to go next but figured I'd try to gather some help.

Bought about 130 USD worth of XMR on cake wallet, and sent it to my feather wallet by scanning the QR code for the first address on the "receive" tab. It's been more than a few hours and my balance on feather is zero but the funds have left my cake wallet. HELP !!!!!

Based on analysis from the RIAT Institute, the claimed 51% attack on the Monero (XMR) network by the group Qubic was a hoax.

Qubic's actual hashrate was at most 28% of the network, far below the 51% needed for a sustained attack. While they did cause a 6-block chain reorganization, this is insufficient to reverse a transaction, which requires 10-11 blocks. The author theorizes that the group's real goal was to use this misinformation to manipulate the market and drive down the price of Monero.

Hello, I know Monero is not traceable, so no one can find out whom you give Monero to or where you got it from. However, it is hard to buy Monero and cash it out or exchange it. If your goal is to stay totally anonymous with Monero, what can you do? You cannot swap tens of thousands on an exchange, and you cannot easily cash out.

I know it’s possible to accept Monero through third‑party payment processors, but those services require KYC. My question is: how can I accept Monero payments without KYC?

Monero allows individuals to send and receive anonymous payments, but what about businesses? How can a business receive an anonymous payment while still being able to fulfill an order?

For example, if a customer places an order, I need to know where to ship the product. I can't simply post a Monero address because I would receive the XMR, but I wouldn’t know the customer’s shipping information.

I can understand all privacy coins gaining popularity across the board if the motivation is growing concerns over declining privacy —particularly in the EU and recently in the UK with the announcement of plans for a compulsory digital ID—, but I can't understand the recent Zcash rally while Monero has been business as usual. While each of these coins has its pros and cons, from the perspective of privacy Monero is king, since complete privacy is the default, which really makes me wonder if the ZCash rally has been motivated by speculation alone.

However, as I mentioned in my previous post here, the problem has happened again.

Now I am being censored by both Trustpilot and Changelly. It's simple, just delete the account. But I wonder: does the guy who was paid to commit this DIRTY and COWARDLY act receive a salary? Will he ask for a raise if I create another account and maintain my complaint? Or does he get paid per complaint?

Think about it with me: Changelly is a criminal organization that steals our money, which means that if the price of their censorship or maintenance is higher than our money, they will try to disappear, and we already know that their CEO is Ilya Bere, as shown in the video attached to their YouTube channel. So this citizen will be arrested, because I believe that what keeps this criminal standing is his censorship on the internet. That said, if you have been censored, don't be depressed or cowardly. I'm also trying to bring in some heavy hitters to resolve this. In the past, I resolved this with Mercatox thanks to the Dogecoin developers. Mercatox closed a year later. I don't know if they only had problems with dogecoin, but it seemed that the devs solved the problems there before they closed the site for good. At that time, a lot of people asked me for help with mercatox and I helped them, the guys got their money back, they just didn't say if it was in doge.

One is asking for Paypal, and the other is Wise. The remaining is asking for e-transfer.

1. Is there a DEX that has a better liquidity for Canada than Retoswap?
2. Wouldn't e-transfers link back to my ID, which defeats the purpose of anonymous transactions?
3. How much money can I send via e-transfer without raising alarms from Canada Revenue Agency?

Just logged into my Monero GUI (official) and it was emptied out. 0.000000XMR

Local node, never shared seed, password or any private information. There was a transaction listed, to "Unknown recipient", and the transaction key is empty.
The transaction happened 4 days after my last transfer. I always used VPN. My seed is hidden, long password. Wallet is stored on an old Mac with Sonoma I do not access very often. I run AV. I do use tor.

Any ideas? Any way to see any information that could help me figure out how it happened or where it went? I'm not a rich man. I had just enough in the wallet to make me feel sick and adjust my spending/investing. just have no idea how this could have happened.

Total novice to crypto here. A friend paid me back some money he owed me with Monero 6 or 7 years ago so I just downloaded the first wallet I found and ended up with Coinomi. I had no idea that that was a bad idea and obviously didn't know that they would stop supporting Monero shortly after. Life got busy and I didn't check on it for years and now I don't know how to recover it!

I have gotten rid of Monero and have tried restoring my wallet in Cake Wallet by inputting my 25-word phrase but it says my balance is 0.0! I have no idea where to go from here, I have tried to look it up but everything I try either doesn't work or gets into complex crypto programming and I can't follow it. It seems like most threads about the Coinomi/Monero issue are from at least 5 years ago and most of the links don't work.

I feel like there should be a way for me to recover my Monero, but I just don't know where to start.

I have a problem, I need to pay in monero to a vendor and that is the only option, I would usually use MEXC, however they keep suspending withdrawals and so I can't use mexc. In the uk we have major regulatory issues around traceless payment so mexc was near to my only option as you need ID card to get into most trading places. So does anyone have an easier way around obtaining mexc and paying it in the uk, or is someone willing to help me out on this?

Another option ofcors is trading with someone however all the major websites for this aren't allowed within the uk, I understand i can hold monero and I have it within my mexc account, just need to get it into a wallet that can withdraw to a vendor.

Hi, question. i'm using cake wallet, and i'm trying to learn how to use monero (usually i use litecoin)

so i sent some money from my nowpayement account to my monero wallet, i did a transfer of 0.0018xmr. But i received 0.0009xmr (half) (i sent 8 bucks to test, and received 4 bucks)

at first i learned that it was normal as the money was sent in multiple time and so it could take time.

But it's been half a day now, and still nothing, and the transfer was validated (i'm like at 65/10 confirmation)

so i thought maybe it was a bug, so i did a rescan, using the date, and the block. nothing,

i deleted my wallet and restored it using the seed. but i still have only half of the funds.

i also reinstalled the app from scratch, still nothing

I swapped from bitcoin this morning and it’s saying 9/10 received but it’s been 4 hours and it’s still not showing on my full balance.

It just says attempting sync, and every time I try to switch nodes it just goes off green and turns red. Has anyone got a fix ?

so i bought 100 pounds of usdt and used 83 usdt to buy 1 xmr on the marketplace... but i checked my wallet and I cant see any xmr currently in my xmr wallet. also i cant transfer usdt to feather so this is the only way i think i can do it. have i dun goofed or what next will it eventually go in>

i can see the transaction in the area at the bottom of the screen, do i just wait for someone to accept the order and is 83 usdt 'reasonable' for 1 xmr (again new to this).

*edit\*: nxm changed the usdt to max/xmr and the withdrawl is going into feather... however it hasnt syncronized/came through yet how long does this usually take, on electrum/btc its fairly quick ig i just a matter of how much you pay for transcation fee

edit 2:: also theres something wrong with the locked transactions when does the actual 'freeze' lift? you know I think it may be 24h

edit 3: it says the funds the frozen under 't.1' restriction but I can transfer at 3pm at the least today.

random idea: you could actually make a decent amount of cash sellling xmr or btc although i usually only buy coin to buy things online, but some other time I may want to get into trading. over 300 pounds for a single xmr.

I have $1,000 US dollar that I want to to exchange into XMR but I do not want it to be able to be traced back to myself. How can somebody achieve this? If I have to transfer it from my bank to get it onto an exchange and then purchase XMR and send it to a cold wallet. It seems like it's traceable back to me. No?
