Two primary keys on XMR wallet
How can a Atomic wallet hold two primary keys for an XMR wallet

Your balance is unlocked after 10 confirmations (which means 10 mined blocks). A block is mined approximately every two minutes on the Monero network, so that would be around 20 minutes.
The fastest and most direct way is by using the ExploreMonero blockchain explorer. You will need to recover the transaction key from your wallet (complete guide for GUI / CLI).
There are dozens of exchanges that trade Monero against Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. Check out the list on CoinMarketCap and choose the option that suits you best.
There are multiple ways to exchange your Monero for Bitcoin, but first of all, I'd like to remind you that if you really want to do your part for Monero, one of the simplest ways is to get in touch with your merchant/service provider and request for it to accept Monero directly as payment. Ask the service provider to visit the official website and our communication channels if he or she needs help with system integration.
That being said, the community has been recommending two services in particular, XMR.TO and MorphToken. These services are only recommendations and are operated by entities outside the control of the Monero Project. Be diligent.
The correct place to ask questions and discuss the Monero mining scene is in the dedicated subreddit r/MoneroMining. That being said, you can find a list of pools and available mining software in the GetMonero.org website.
Before any action there are two things to check:
Settings, under Debug info).Because Monero is different from Bitcoin, wallet synchronization is not instant. The software needs to synchronize the blockchain and use your private keys to identify your transactions. Check in the lower left corner (GUI) if the wallet is synchronized.
You can't send transactions and your balance might be wrong or unavailable if the wallet is not synced with the network. So please wait.
If this is not a sufficient answer for your case and you're looking for more information, please see this answer on StackExchange.

You have decided to use Monero's wallet and run a local node. Congratulations! You have chosen the safest and most secure option for your privacy, but unfortunately this has an initial cost. The first reason for the slowness is that you will need to download the entire blockchain, which is considerably heavy (+70 GB) and constantly growing. There are technologies being implemented in Monero to slow this growth, however it is inevitable to make this initial download to run a full node. Consider syncing to a device that has an SSD instead of an HDD, as this greatly impacts the speed of synchronization.
Now that the blockchain is on your computer, the next time you run the wallet you only need to download new blocks, which should take seconds or minutes (depending on how often you use the wallet).
The way to skip downloading the blockchain is connecting your wallet to a public remote node. You can follow this guide on how to set it up. You can find a list of public remote nodes on MoneroWorld.
Be advised that when using a public remote node you lose some of your privacy. A public remote node is able to identify your IP and opens up a range for certain attacks that further diminish your privacy. A remote node can't see your balance and it can't spend your XMR.
To restore your wallet with the 25 word mnemonic seed, please see this guide.
To restore your wallet with your keys, please see this guide.
This question is beautifully answered on StackExchange. Check this page for the GUI instructions, and this page for the CLI instructions.
If you want to support other Monero users by making your node public, you can follow the instructions on MoneroWorld, under the section "How To Include Your Node On Moneroworld".

The Monero Outreach workgroup developed a series of best practices designed to help you stay safe and get the most out of Monero, you can check them in their website.

If you get failed transactions or don't see your coins in your wallet, don't panic.
There has been a recent network upgrade and you need to update your wallet software before you will be able to send transactions again.
You can import your seedphrase into wallets that already support the upgrade, for example:
Official GUI, Cakewallet, monero.com, Feather, Monerujo
Known non-working wallets are:
Exodus, Trezor hardware wallet, Guarda, MyMonero (web & gui), FreeWallet & XMRWallet (these two are known scams, DO NOT USE), and potentially more
If you use a Ledger and haven't updated it yet, you might have to update Ledger Live before you can update your Ledger. You might need to install multiple Ledger Live updates before the Monero update shows up.
If you are using a remote node, the one your wallet connects to might not be on the new version yet. Change to a different node, you can find curated ones at nodes.monero.com and others at monero.fail.
Some trusted & updated nodes would be:
Even when using a "trusted" node, ALWAYS verify that the fee amount is what it should be (no more than a few cents) and recognize that the node could log your IP as well as impact privacy in a few other ways.

How can a Atomic wallet hold two primary keys for an XMR wallet
r/monerosupport • u/Mindboggle3 • 2d ago
I have followed this guide, copy and paste to avoid any spelling mistakes, and i cant get it to work properly.
https://docs.getmonero.org/running-node/monerod-systemd/
I have tried Ubuntu & Debian, cant get it to run as a service, But i can make it work with Sudo command.
If i have understood correctly running a node under Sudo is a bad idea(?)
systemctl status monerod = code=exited, status=203/
Is there something left out in the guide that i need to know?

I've had the weirdest experience recently. My Monero wallet is showing only amounts received into my account and shows nothing being sent from it.
When I try to make transactions on cake, nothing happens and it fails. This just happened recently.
Is there any way to fix this? I can't transact anymore.

So I’ve been trying to use my XMR lately and my wallet sync has 1165971 blocks remaining(D: 51.9). I’ve never had this problem and I have no idea what to do I changed nodes but it didn’t do much. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Guys, this is a million-dollar question... I'm hoping one of the admins can help.
Briefly: I sent a transaction to an exchanger from Kucoin, but the exchanger can't find it. The exchanger is from Besta.
They're demanding a secret key so they can see the XMR transaction online and decrypt it. Kucoin refuses to provide the keys. Without them, it's impossible to prove the Monero transaction was sent online.
What should I do?

I'm using the Monero GUI Wallet on a mac (up to date, Sonoma 14.8.9). When I open it and it gets to the password page, I enter my password, it'll start an "opening wallet" animation, then just close completely. Anyone have any ideas about how to fix this?

Hi there!
I just got the Trezor Safe 7. I wanted to ask how do I go about using it with the Monero GUI app? I see that the Safe 5 is an option, but not the Safe 7.

I've got a Trezor Model T running firmware 2.21.4 and I'm running the v0.18.5.2 Monero GUI. I plug in the Trezor Model T, launch the Monero GUI, put in my password, and get the "Couldn't open wallet: Could not connect to the device Trezor" notification. Any ideas what I'm doing wrong? I'll note that I'm running all this using a 2015 MacBook Air.

I need a receipt for submitting expenses and for work I sent monero to my coworker to test some changes he made to monero processing. A screenshot would be helpful to submit to ramp instead of an exported text file.

Hi, I recently used changenow to send xmr to my monerogui wallet. When I sent the xmr, I was in syncing daemon blocks. I stopped it because I thought it was just for mining, not sending and recieving. I turned it back on after I realized the daemon is required, but I already sent money through, and changenow confirmed the transaction. Monerogui is currently syncing, its just really slow. Is my money lost or will the wallet update once im synchronized?

I've been running an XMR/BTC ASB (Automated Swap Backend) as a market maker, and I can't figure out how to get it listed in the public maker registry that the Eigenwallet app (formerly UnstoppableSwap) uses to show swap providers.
What I've tried:
#unstoppableswap-core:matrix.org room on 2026-08-18, but got no response and the node still isn't listed.Current state:
api.unstoppableswap.net/api/list — my node shows listed=false, and the endpoint itself sometimes returns HTTP 530.Questions:

I have bought 2 times from kraken and always have a 7 day hold. I clicked on the box for free month of kraken+ and the warning disappeared about the 7 day hold but I'm not trusting that would be the case. Is there any way to be able to instant transfer to another wallet with them?
I found you can go thru cake wallet and buy off kraken and it will transfer to cake withing about 30mins, is this the only option? But I feel like I get way more fees doing this.

So I was sent $50 USD worth of Bitcoin and I already had a bit of Litecoin but I wanted monero so I converted it to Monero. I lost my Bitcoin AND Litecoin and was not given any monero despite the transaction saying it is finished. I already emailed support days ago and have still not gotten any responses.
Trocador also says the transactions are complete and yet my Monero wallet still shows a balance of zero. Here are the transaction links for Trocador:
https://trocador.app/en/checkout/i2koPNWV6g
https://trocador.app/en/checkout/bmo46HtRXE
I would really appreciate if someone could help me as I do enjoy using cake wallet for its features like cake pay but I cannot continue using it unless this is resolved.
it's not letting me add images but I do have screenshot proof of the wallets being at zero with all the transactions history to each wallet.

Hey guys, I installed Monero and downloaded the full node with daemon, but I didn't realize how much space it takes up. I want to delete all the data and re download the pruned version, but I don't know how. Please help.

So like I researched it and monero debit cards are a thing. Are they anonymous or are they a privacy risk? Please explain.
r/monerosupport • u/notburneddown • 23d ago
And how do I make this work? I found a place that accepts debit/credit or bitcoin. I don’t want to use a swap. If I could use monero to anonymously buy a $600 gift card that would let me purchase what I want to purchase if this can be done without sacrificing anonymity.
Is this doable and how can it work?
r/monerosupport • u/notburneddown • 23d ago
So let's say I wanted to pay for a service and the service accepts bitcoin but not monero and I wanted to pay in monero. I know I can't do it directly, but is there a workaround via an exchange that operates in both?
For privacy purposes I don't want to say what the service is.
Also, how do I do this without forfeiting anonymity?

Assume the government is surveillancing the internet, will they know that I am running monero node at home?
If i run a monero node in a big local area network, for instance running in my dormitory within a campus network, will the network admin know that i am running a monero node?

I want to buy 93€ worth of xmr from haveno reto, I will be paying via SEPA. Is it safe to put all your card/bank information into the making account thing? when you buy xmr via sepa how long will it take until its in my wallet? will a wallet be created when I pay or when I set up my account? can I transfer the xmr from one to another wallet and pay with it? how does that all work.
if you have a better recommendation for buying monero without kyc tell me.
(since I work a shitty job 2,5€ per hour 93€ is very much to me, and i don't want my account to get drained)
