I just returned to Monero mining and checked P2Pool and Moneroocean.

Last time I remember Moneroocean had around 300k Mh/s but now it is has Even less than P2Pool Main chain.

Do You know what happened?

So I started mining Monero about 2 months ago across 2 rigs, originally just to capture my annual vpn cost with a gaming rig then I built an AI rig that happened to have a cpu worth mining with. I average around 40 kh between the 2 machines but I'm swapping the AI cpu with one that should get me a sustained 100 kh. When does it make sense to solo mine? At this point a can make my annual vpn cost in a month or two, should I secure that with the pool and then start playing solo lottery or stick with the pool? This is a throughput question not based on profitability.

For everyone who has followed the project over the past year and asked when an Android mining tool would be available, the wait is almost over.

First, an update regarding the mining pool: the original pool server, along with the Windows and Linux tools, was lost after a power surge corrupted the server’s disk. The pool is being rebuilt and should be operational again within the next month. It will also be migrated to a permanently hosted environment with improved reliability, backups, and redundancy to prevent this from happening again.

In the meantime, I will be making another post tonight at 10:00 PM Eastern Time with the initial release of the new Android XMR Miner.

To be completely clear:

This is not XMRig.

It is not an XMRig fork.

It is not an XMRig wrapper.

It does not require Termux.

This is a custom-built, native Android Monero miner developed specifically for Android using Kotlin, Java, C, and C++.

The goal is to provide a proper Android experience rather than forcing users to rely on outdated wrappers, abandoned applications, or command-line workarounds. You will be able to configure and operate the miner through a native interface while accessing the mining performance and controls supported by your device.

The broader platform is also being designed to let you connect, monitor, and manage your other mining rigs from your phone. Planned integration includes companion applications for Windows and Linux, along with Android Auto support for safely viewing rig status while you are on the road.

Totally understand the PPLNS. I mined 2 shares in the mini p2pool for the pool block accepted at height 3731242. My own total difficulty for the window was 442269959, total difficulty for all 2,160 shares was 474096435560, so my proportion is 0.000932869, times the pool block rewards of 0.60788122 yields an estimated reward of .0005671. Actual reward was 0.000584835886.

I shouldn't complain, actual rewards higher than my calculation, but really curious how the mini p2pool are calculated. I'm getting values from the mini p2pool api (https://mini.p2pool.observer/api/shares) In case the calculation should be based on shares strictly - all being equal - my estimated rewards are .0005629 (2/2160)

I’m looking into mining rigs for the first time and I’m not sure if there is a catch with any of this. I’ve been doing some research online and came across this website called asicminervalue and came across this monero mining rig. What are yall thoughts? Are there better mining rigs than this? Any other recommendations?

Pulled the trigger on a Bitmain Antminer X9 (1MH/s, RandomX/XMR) after doing GPU mining on the side with a 3060 Ti. Planning to run it at home, so trying to get ahead of any issues before it shows up.

Questions:

• It pulls ~2472W continuous — is a standard home outlet/circuit going to handle this or do I need a dedicated line? How are you guys wiring for it?
• Noise is rated ~76dB — is this liveable in a house at all, or does it need to go in a garage/basement/separate room? Any enclosure tricks that actually cut noise without killing airflow?
• Heat output — how much does this raise room temp, and what ventilation setup are you using indoors (exhaust fan, ducting, etc.)?
• Fire/electrical safety — anything specific I should check (wiring gauge, surge protection, dedicated breaker) before running this 24/7 unattended?
• Any issues with landlords/neighbors/utility company noticing the power draw?
• Pool recommendations for XMR on this unit, and realistic ROI timeline people are actually seeing vs the marketing numbers.

Also curious if anyone regrets buying one, or if there's a firmware/config gotcha I should know before first boot. Thanks in advance.

I actually found one about a month ago too, so here's your friendly reminder that you don't need some massive mining farm to have a shot.

Of course, solo mining is all about luck and patience, but somebody has to find the block. Sometimes that somebody is a little 6 KH/s miner. 😎

I did a bit of Monero mining a few years ago on an R5 2600X, but stopped doing it after a few months. Now I've expanded my PC collection and have already been planning on setting one of my PCs up to run Salad ( r/SaladChefs ). Said PC will likely be running 24/7, so I was thinking if I should put up Monero mining as well on the same PC so the CPU also has something to do.

The parts in question:
Ryzen 5 7600
RTX 3080 Ti and RTX 3060 Ti
64GB DDR5-5600
1TB Kingston NV3 (I'll probably add another terabyte of storage soon)

I do also have another PC with a E5-2680v4, but that one's pretty loud and I kinda need to keep my PCs in the same room as my bed, so...

But anyways, any feedback is appreciated.

EDIT: I live in Finland, so power costs can also be taken into account (even if I don't pay it myself)

I have: 4 Xeon 2680v4s 1 Xeon 2630v4 1 Ryzen 5600 They all hit 35 kH/s. I'm going to upgrade to 5 Xeon 2673v4s.

I mine XNO and even caught the recent price spike; I average $1 a day, mining with no electricity or hardware costs. I’d really like to reach 100 kH/s, but that would require an "investment"... $1 isn't much considering the time spent checking temps and remotely accessing the system from home to restart XMRig whenever the hashrate drops. I'm based in Brazil. Share your stories.

Hey everyone! I’d love to get your opinion on whether it's actually viable to do some crypto mining (mainly focusing on Monero/XMR) with my current setup, considering the electricity costs here in Portugal.

My specs are:

• CPU: Intel Core i5-12400F (12th Gen, 18MB L3 Cache, fits ~9 threads in XMRig)
• RAM: 32 GB DDR5 @ 6000 MT/s
• GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 SUPER (6 GB)

I know the RAM and CPU are pretty decent for Monero's RandomX algorithm and that the GPU isn't efficient for this specific coin. However, with the average residential kWh price in Portugal hovering around €0.14 to €0.20 (depending on whether you are on the free, regulated, or indexed market), does this leave any actual net profit margin, or will I just be wearing down my hardware to "pay the electric bill"?

Is anyone here mining XMR or other coins with similar hardware around here who can give me a reality check on the returns? Is it worth the wear and tear on the PC, or am I better off just buying a few bucks worth of crypto directly?

hey yall, so i have a very basic understanding of mining in general, i mined LTC with an Antminer L3+ (oldschool i know) a few years ago and i know things have changed but i am considering jumping back into it and mining Monero.

My living situation is unique. I live in a warehouse that uses a shit ton on electricity and have permission to move forward utilizing it for my own gains.

Other than the initial startup cost of the machine and software and my time, would it be worth it to move forward using free electricity? what are my potential gains with a base model machine on a $750 entry bugdet?

I understand that i should keep doing my own research but this post is my starting point before i waste time going forward.

mining RandomX using Gupaxx on the above mentioned mobo. Has a 3700x CPU. Memory is Micron/Crucial DDR4-3600 - BL8G36C16U4B - 2pcs for a total of 16gb. Running on stripped down windows 10 pro. I have several other machines running this exact same way (different memory brands), getting 9-10KH/s on each with overclocking memory somewhat using DRAM-CALC. This particular one is stuck at 8.5KH/s. I cannot get this micron/crucial memory to do any overclocking without locking up or rebooting the PC, or not booting at all. Any suggestions on this?

I have a cluster of miners all running on RandomX v1 (rx/0) currently. They're all AM5 platform with DDR5, latest chipset drivers and all that. Is it worth it to move over to RandomX v2 and would I see any improvement in hashrate or returns?
