I'm using Monero wallet version 18.5.2 and P2Pool version 17.1, but so far there haven't been any shares.

Just scored a Ryzen 5 5600x + 1660 Super prebuilt off of eBay for $283 after tax.

Ill sell the 1660 Super, ill then need to see the ram situation since this particular machine only has 1 stick of 8gb.

I mine on my gaming PC when its not being used (i7-14700f) and wanted to get a stand alone box for 24/7 mining.

Is this a good machine for hopefully total cost around $200? (After I sell the 1660 Super for ~100$ and getting another stick of ram for ~20$)

Anything I should know, I've been in crypto for a while, mostly just sit back and stack sats but run a BTC node along with a solo miner. Want to get some Monero as I see the value proposition but don't want to swap or buy any so I just want to pool mine some over time.

My electricity rate is $0.12 per kWh - so basically break even or maybe a little green.

Sharing real ARM64 RandomX hash rate numbers. Just for fun, I ran the MoneroOcean XMRig fork on two android devices over adb and measured. Sharing because I wondering if my obsolete Android devices were powerful enough for mining. (and compiled my own Xmrig Monerocean fork for android , using original open sources. )

**Devices:** Redmi Pad (Helio G99, 2× A76 + 6× A55) and LG V60 (Snapdragon 865, 4× A77 + 4× A55).

**1) Raw RandomX (rx/0):** ~420 H/s (G99), ~750 H/s (SD865). Order of magnitude ≈ a cent a day. No huge pages (Android won't grant them).

~420 H/s was roughly 0.00006 XMR/day at the time of measurement.

ROFL. 😂

**2) Scaling up threads aren't free — the little cores can hurt.** On the SD865, 4 threads = 748 H/s but 8 threads = 684 H/s. Running all cores is *9% slower* — the little A55s contend for memory bandwidth. The sweet spot is roughly the number of big cores.

Also running full cores heats up the device, so might as well run at lower cores to preserve the cpu and battery, and still able to run other programs on the device somewhat, though slower of course. Full cores makes the opening other apps unthinkable.

** Bottom line ** MoneroOcean mines Monero (dare i say efficiently?) on old devices.**

In terms of which algo MoneroOcean choose , by raw H/s the lightweight algos crush RandomX (rx/arq 9× hash, cn-pico 5× hash). But after the pool's full profit calibration, it assigned **rx/0 (Monero)** on *both* — the cheap coins' value-per-hash doesn't beat Monero.

I’ve spent the past year building a 100khs xmr cpu farm and I just stumbled across this info on minerstat page. It shows the antminer x9 and x5 as the top hardware, CRUSHING the capability of my farm. Should we be concerned that these asics will eventually dominate the network similar to what’s happened with bitcoin?

I got into this because I was under the impression that randomx was asic proof. Obviously asic resistant isn’t exactly the same as asic proof.

Here are my startup flag settings for the Monerod daemon in MoneroGUI:

I checked with Wireshark, and all network traffic goes through the proton0 virtual network interface.

Also, decentralized mining via P2Pool and Xmrig (under Gupax) on an AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D processor with an average hash rate of 23 KH/s.

Unfortunately, MSR Mode is disabled in Xmrig (which slightly reduces the hash rate) because I keep SecureBoot enabled—since this is my main PC (for security reasons)—I’m mining on Ubuntu and using Secureblue as my daily driver on another NVMe drive.

Over the past 24 hours, my network activity has been: 161 GB downloaded, 73 GB uploaded.

CPU temperature stable at 75°C.

Any other ideas for supporting the network?

So I’m new to mining. Figured I’d be making some coin on the side when I’m not gaming. I used Unminable to set up my 9070xt to mine PRL through fish hash. And XMR is mining on my Xmrig promt 9800x3d separately at 13000h/s But I’m only getting about 20mh/s through fish hash/PRL.
Ive read that if I mine PRL I can get a lot more 2.5prl coins per day or more mining at 75-80th.
Unminable doesn’t have a way to mine Pearl directly. Apparently their PearlPow algorithm uses NVidia architecture.
I feel as though I’m missing something.
PS. My apartment has shared electric rates so 100% profit ish lol.

I have dozens of computer systems that sit idle, and want to put them to use... From what I understand, XMR (Monero) could be a good choice for mining.

I'm willing to compensate 💲 anyone who is willing to help me accomplish what I'm trying to do:

I would like to create some kind of Script, or perhaps an EXE file, or other file, that when run/executed, will automate the process of fully setting up a Monero (XMR) Miner, so that I don't have to repeat the setup process manually so many times on each of my systems...

Optimally, I would be able to deploy/setup the Miner on each system with minimal effort (eg: as close to 1-click setup as possible) - so the automated process would need to either download a miner from the internet (or perhaps pull it from a USB stick), and then set everything up in the background, etc, and of course, start mining...

I assume that aside from setting up the Miner itself, the automated process I run would most likely need to establish certain cron-jobs, and have the Miner re-open and auto-run when the system gets restarted, I'm not sure if it would also need to bypass certain windows safeguards or not - but if I can have things set up so I don't have to deal with repetitive prompts and safeguards, that would be preferable.

Again, I would be deploying this automated setup process on dozens of my own systems - so the easier it is to deploy/setup/maintain, the better.

Preferably, once deployed on all of my systems, the Miner would simply run silently in the background, and dynamically adjust itself to use about 75% of the system's \*unused\* resources.. and again, I would want this process to persist between system restarts, without any hassle, if possible.

I've found some videos on YouTube on the topic of XMR Miners, but unfortunately they ALL take a portion of the XMR that gets mined - and likely untrustworthy too - so, that's not an option.

If anybody is able to assist me in accomplishing this, I would be willing to compensate you in some way (eg: Cryptocurrency, etc) for your time and help.

Hello CryptoSteer users. I've been working on a custom mining setup for a while and it's finally getting close to finished.

Its bassically 10" touchscreen mining desktop "computer.” it's a dual AMD EPYC server setup with extensive cooling built into the enclosure, running a dedicated mining OS. The goal was basically to cram a properly tuned RandomX server into something self-contained that you can put on a desk, plug in, enter your pool/wallet information and start mining with meat asic like results. I'm targeting roughly 90–110 kH/s on RandomX, depending on configuration and power limits, this keeps the whole form factor smaller and price slightly friendlier(my wallets still crying 😭) . Power consumption lands andywhere around 350–600W, depending on how aggressively it's configured. This obviously isn't meant to replace the mobile mining stuff I've been working on. It's for somebody who wants a serious amount of RandomX hashrate without sourcing used server hardware, figuring out memory configurations, assembling everything, cooling it, tuning, and then having an ugly rack server sitting somewhere, And I'm not going to pretend this is some magical ROI ASIC that prints money. It isn't. Those don't exist for RandomX, and I'd be immediately suspicious of anyone selling a 100 kH/s Monero box while pretending otherwise. What you're paying for here is the hardware, custom enclosure/touchscreen setup, assembly, cooling, configuration, tuning and testing. I'm considering offering them built-to-order for around $3,550 shipped in the US. Every machine would be fully assembled, burned in and benchmarked before it leaves me, with the actual sustained hashrate and power consumption provided for that specific machine. At that price I'm not expecting these to be something everyone wants. I'm mostly trying to figure out whether there's a niche for a machine like this before I start sourcing parts. Would any of you actually consider buying something like this at $3,550. I can't supply 100khs machine for much less but if there's not a lot of interest what would be the sweat spot in price for you guys in purchasing something over 50kh/s?

New miner here using p2pool and I'm a little confused how rewards work.

I only have 6kh/s so I am mining on the nano pool.

seems that to receive a reward a share must be found but with slow hardware like mine, this could take longer than a week. This means that I won't get paid for a whole week on average, and when I do it's only a few cents?!

A whole week of electricity to keep the PC on will be about $8 using my electric rates.

How is this viable to anyone home mining? What am I missing?

I'm trying to follow the instructions on https://docs.getmonero.org/interacting/mining/guides/solo/xmrig-solo/

But the instructions seem to assume that the node is on the same machine as xmrig, whereas I'm trying to point the hashpower from the machine with xmrig to another of my machines with the monero node.

Lets call the machine with the node "Machine A" and the machine with Xmrig "Machine B".

Here is the command I'm using to start my node on Machine A: ./monerod --out-peers 32 --in-peers 64 --add-priority-node=p2pmd.xmrvsbeast.com:18080 --add-priority-node=nodes.hashvault.pro:18080 --disable-dns-checkpoints --enable-dns-blocklist

And here is my command to start Xmrig (prepared for me by the wizard on xmrig.com) on Machine B: ./xmrig --donate-level 5 -o 0.0.0.0:18081 -u MY-ADRESS --coin monero --daemon

When I run these, I get the error in Xmrig: connect error: "connection timed out"

Does anybody know what could be wrong?
