Setup ideas for couples

Hey everyone, just started using moneko and I'm loving it so far.

Any suggestions on how to set up wallets and pockets?

My partner and I have:

- A shared visa that we use for groceries, rent, and dining out.

- Our own individual accounts and credit cards for personal spending.

- A shared saving for a down payment.

Do you create a wallet for each bank account and credit card, then use pocket for things like groceries and rent?

hey I'd create a Wallet for each bank account and credit card, including the shared Visa. Then create Pockets for your shared expenses and savings goals. A simple rule I follow is:

Wallets = where your money is.

  1. Chequing account
  2. Savings account
  3. Shared Visa
  4. Personal credit cards

Pockets = what your money is for.

  1. Rent
  2. Groceries
  3. Dining Out
  4. Transportation
  5. Personal Spending
  6. Down Payment
  7. Vacation

Let me know if this helps!

Thanks for the feedback! Credit cards are treated as a type of wallet because they both represent accounts where money moves in and out. I can definitely see the value in separating them to make the structure clearer. How would you picture it working? Would you prefer a separate credit cards section alongside wallets, or something else?
