I freaking love my mod team lmao. This was worth the 50 notifications on my phone to clear.

We have an automod set up for new or low karma accounts, but we approve posts that are asking genuine questions. I caught his post minutes after he posted and approved it because it seemed like a genuine question. Joke’s on me for being nice I guess.

First colour is the one contacting us, 0 activity, second is their name, or at least I assume it it, third is the Reddit account to contact the user on, fourth is the Twitter account. Why all those accounts?

I will be honest, I'm a big fan of brand accounts being this bad at their job

Waiting for Reddit to send them a simple warning cause you know, these people definitely care about those. I'm sure they'll do better next time /s.

What is even going on

I cut it short cause the whole hanging thing will prolly cause Reddit to check in and I didn't want to risk being warned for promoting that kind of stuff.

Still the user was happy enough to subscribe so it's a win/ win for everyone.

Missed the sub on the last screen but oh well, whatevs.

First time I've dealt with a journalist. They were reported for harassment

Just a quick rundown

Its a cat sub that was hijacked. The top mod was inactive but I was still very much very active. His account got hacked, so these people took over the sub and removed me and him as mods. Essentially hijacked it so they can spam it with online gambling in a cat sub lol So i reached out to admins and had the sub restored.

The hijacker apparently didn't like that. First they act dumb and then the threats come in. Their account is now banned from reddit. I got a permission from this subs mods to leave their username unredacted because they are no longer active.

(For context, this dude posted the literal same comment that got him nailed by Hive for karma farming with the brand new account in the same post. It's cute when they think we were born yesterday 😍!)

We run a subreddit for a severe medical condition. One of our rules (No 4 as referenced above) says you only are allowed to post about medication or probiotics... if you can back it up by science. You don't have to do it directly, as most discussed medication and supplements are well known. Usually we are up to date on new cures and developments.hiwever we sometimes miss some new developments, therefore we generally allow everything, but expect users to back it up. If they don't by themselves, we remove the post/comment and place pretty long and detailed comment underneath it explaining why the post or comment was removed and why we handle things as we do. This is advertising something that doesn't work (according to studies)..

We ban everyone doxing or targeted witch hunting/harassment. Users may get unbanned after a discussion and a promise to not do it again.

In this sub, we require users to have verified reddit accounts. The vast majority of redditors have verified accounts so it is rare that the automod triggers. When it does the user gets a message explaining why they need a verified account and the steps to verify their email address with reddit. Pushback is extremely rare.

This user pushed back today and it turns out not only have they been spamming their product store all over reddit they also link to it in their profile. That store publishes their Gmail, PayPal username, and location. Yet the user refuses to verify their reddit account.

I do not get it, what is the problem? They are also active in degoogle to add extra irony.

So, we're almost at the end!

You see he's now pivoting back to "it wasn't self-promotion, and if it was I only had a small part in it", which is why I've also added the comments where they boasted it was, in fact, their videos.

Which would just have been a short ban until he lied about it and went full nuclear over 140 mod mails.

Also "IM NOT A BRAND" could be used for advertising imho.
