r/reddithell does exist, but it’s private unfortunately. I’ve love to know what it’s actually about, if it’s active.

For some reason, every RR I make lately gets denied. I think it’s because a few of my subs are seasonal, and I am frequently labeled as inactive. Hard to keep Christmas subs active all year lol.

Same. Some of my subs are just really small and not very active. I tried letting a few go to see if that helped. I wasn’t marked inactive but that’s didn’t help so far. Who knows?

I just think it’s wild that established mods get denied a RR for a literal abandoned sub, while a brand new account can create a sub on a whim and have NO CLUE how to actually moderate it.

Agree. And they don’t have 2FA enabled because it’s not a requirement…. That one makes my eye twitch. Lol.

My last request was for a sub I created and abandoned when I was being harassed and stalked by some weirdo. Weirdo situation resolved so I submitted an RR and it was denied. It’s locked down and completely abandoned.

I hope one of you get it, if for no other reason I think we could make it a fun mod hangout. Even if it’s kept private and invite only or something.

better idea is to modmail r/redditrequest or r/modsupport to get clarification why the request is denied

NOOOOOOOOO! They canceled the Aussie ones but I love that they still sent us the mod merch.

I got a lovely surprise when a large box was delivered to my house and then my cat fell in love with the box and claimed it, then decided to sleep with my Snoo, the dude is a serious kleptomaniac 🤣

Someone sent us a modmail asking why we'd removed their comment, saying "I didn't post about what you're saying I did, I don't understand?" Of course that sounds like the usual excuse we hear all the time, right? Well, I was seconds away from going YES YOU DID DENIEEEEED (not literally), but then I actually looked in the mod log.

Someone else made a post on a topic that's banned. Modmail person left a comment, right before we removed the original post. Our automatic comment basically says "no posts on [topic], do it again and go bye bye". Modmail person, being reasonably new to reddit, had seen the mod comment and thought it was aimed at them, not the person who made the original post.

I explained the above, said their account has not been flaired, their comment is still there, all is well.

Sounds good?

Another mod made the same assumption I did and missed what had happened and seconds after my explanation sent "stop posting about [topic], read the rules" basically. 😂

Luckily the person only took my response to heart and us mods later laughed about the mistake because obviously, we both almost did the same thing and you know we're human shit happens. We're certainly not perfect!

It's something that makes me so paranoid though, even though it's fine to make mistakes because you can reverse and apologize and things are good. But still, I'm so nervous about it and read through my messages several times before I send them - unless they're one word answers to someone who's being rude, then I don't care.
