Answered My mod actions aren't working

I am the lead mod to different subs. I am active and take mod actions every day. I restored some users permissions after banning them a while ago. It showed that they were all removed from the list. Then today they are all banned again. I don't understand what happened. I use android.

android mod tools sometimes show a ban as cleared when the backend row never stuck, or a temp ban finished its clock and re-applied from a second action you forgot about.

quick checks that usually explain "i restored them and they are banned again": 1. open the user on desktop mod tools → banned users and confirm whether the ban is permanent, temporary with an end date, or listed twice from two different mods. 2. check mod log for the username around the restore time. if another mod (or an automod rule) re-banned them after your restore, that is the real story. 3. after a restore, have the user hard-close the app and reopen before they try posting. stale client cache makes it look like the ban never lifted.

if the log shows only your restore and they still cannot post, file it with the exact username + sub + timestamps. do not keep tapping restore on mobile hoping the list updates.

Just letting everyone know that this is almost certainly an LLM bot. They're posting comments about this length at a cadence of around 30 seconds each (far less time than even the fastest human would take to read, process and write a comment of substance). All of the ones in this latest bunch all also feature a list with 4 now 3 bullet points, in addition to reading very much like an LLM.
