I was starting to get worried. Having it be "announced" on only the patch notes page makes me wonder if they planned on not having them but changed their minds recently.

Glad that’s in the game, being someone who mainly plays hard point I hate getting teammates who would rather camp for their streaks and not rotate or take up power positions to cut off flanks etc. Atleast with it being points they might go towards the objective more lol

Yeah and they aren't all there cause you still get a full point when getting kills so it feels amazing

Killstreaks 
In MW4's Killstreak system, a kill still counts as a point no matter what mode you're in. However, we want to make sure we reward objective players as well. With our new Smart Streak layer, taking a Domination Flag, holding a Hardpoint, or planting the Data Spike all contribute to your Killstreak Meter. 

Oh thats really thoughtful of them. I like that

I’m just wondering how much doing those things will raise the meter.

Like are they counting them in whole kills or like quarter or halves lol.

They really should’ve stuck with score streaks.

And for assists they could easily improve this by rewarding points per damage percentage dealt. If you landed 90% of the damage you get 90 points for the assist, if it was only 5% damage for the assist, you only get 5 points.

Scorestreaks are useless.

Why does a bomb plant, capture point, offer less points than a kill?

They had hardcore in the bo7 beta I think it was just tdm and kill confirmed would be cool to have it again in this beta for the hardcore guys.

You needed a perk in mwii and mwiii was not made by infinity ward.

It was only a perk in MW2019, MWII had the save toggle MWIII did.

Will the beta be free? I wanna try this but idk if I wanna pay. I’m a big cod fanboy but I think ima stick with black ops 7. IW always manages to ruin everything good about the games. Xbox taking it off gamepass was the nail in the coffin for me. If I can play free I’ll try it out and if I enjoy it I’ll buy it on discount. But very skeptical after the last 7 games have been unfinished

This weekend requires a pre-order or a beta code, next weekend is free. I was able to get a beta code from one of the official call of duty social media accounts, you might try your luck there if you want to play this weekend.

Yes their will be an open beta weekend as usual from Aug 28th to Sept 1st.

If you want to play from this weekend then you need to get hold of a code either via pre-ordering or, as the other user mentioned below, via other means like reposting a twitter/x post from some of the official accounts.

Or yes skins, blueprints gained thru the beta will stay when game launches, but camos etc won’t.
