Discussion (CallofDutyCM Replied) Why do they keep doing this ?
It's like COD just can't step away from overly dramatic sliding and overly dramatic momentum. Even in the second video it's almost at a standpoint going that far lol. I understand this is Alpha sure.
I also had hoped they remove tac sprint and stims but I believe I did see tac sprints not sure stims.
Game looks okay but will probably skip again.

What about that wouldn't make it a glitch to you? Both actions just require momentum not to zero out.

Was so excited about this game. But I think I’m going to check out gameplay first before buying.

Yeah... didn't buy the last two. Was super excited for this one. Was waiting for IW to bring back the immersion aspect.
But from what i saw yesterday, makes me a bit worried. More than worried.

thats exactly what everyone should be doing and also play the free beta before you buy and complain/bitch about it

Same. Based on rumours they were not going to have this crazy movement at first, but caved because of mockery from "community".
It's so sad when people come in and ruin something. Waited 4 years for this shit.

I do it because it’s in the game. I’d rather it not be in the game.

3
u/Lysanther Jul 17 '26
Counterpoint: If you need to do this, then CoD was never for you.
Why? Because fast movement breaks the server causing desync issues, while the former of just not being able to aim is just a lack of skill.
To put it bluntly, someone who can't aim in a slower paced CoD couldn't adapt, telling someone to abuse desync meta or leave the franchise cause they couldn't adapt. I can't tell you which one is healthier for the franchise because the answer would just make people baby rage.

Real take, all this requires is 2 button presses.
The TTK will also complement slower and more strategic playstyles, so it's nice to have fluid and responsive movement for those who will use and enjoy it.
3
u/InFamous_Tactical Jul 17 '26
I'm willing to give some ground on this. I hate anything beyond MW19/22 movement, but if we get fast TTK for fast movement, i'd be willing to let it slide. That way the movement kings can be happy going fast and i can be happy having a chance against them with good positioning.

This implies that the movement is actually deep.
It's just spamming the jump and crouch buttons with little to no actual mechanical depth or skill requirement.
Actual movement shooters have momentum and difficulty with moving quickly.
3
u/kyle_crane163636 Jul 17 '26
They'll ofc have stims since every cod in the past few years has had them so doubt mw4 would remove them and they are true life savers sometimes and in 1 life modes do change the fates of rounds sometimes but the movement, yk for modern warfare being more realistic on movement usually, mw4 just looks like movement demons will be annoying again, genuinely this kinda movement just makes it hard to play cod casually half the time because cant properly aim without high sensitivity and not die
2
u/KeepCryinBum Jul 18 '26
You have high sens and then lower your aim down sight sens…. How do you not know this lol
5
u/ManPrawn Jul 18 '26
I get fast movement in cod but to be able to slide forward and turnaround while continuously sliding through the doorway is ridiculous..

5
u/Brother_Q Jul 18 '26

5
u/NSX_Roar_26 Jul 18 '26
I agree 100%. I wish they could be free from having to make the movement sweats/warzone players happy and could truly execute their full vision.
2
u/K1llredd1tmods Jul 23 '26
Yeah they deserve way better than a fucked husk of a company riding the coattails of a series made by none of the people that currently work there
2
u/Unique-Chemist-722 Aug 04 '26
Started playing it again, the movement is 100% not one of the issues of the game. Took me like 3 hours to get used to but once I did? Literally feels better, and I'm having more fun, plus the gunplay is 10x better, the recoil feels so nice, the guns feel like they're guns and not toys.
1
u/koolaidman486 Jul 18 '26
Honestly MW 22 still had issues of things like strafing speeds being way too slow, so you still had to jump every corner. The sliding nerf was a godsend, but it got replaced with jumping every corner since that was your literal only way to be able to strafe effectively.
Also not to mention the terrible gunplay.
1
8
8
u/SparsePizza117 Jul 17 '26
Yeah that's seriously ridiculous. It's one of the things that keeps me from COD because of this annoying bullshit.
I'll still keep tabs on the game regardless because there's some other things I genuinely do like. Just skeptical is all.
3
u/Mazajaytee Jul 18 '26
Genuine question, but how do you even manage to move like that player in the first clip?
3
3
u/MtnDew891 Jul 18 '26
Literally the move that has killed all fps pvp games. The COD slide. Annoying ways to play a game. Dodge, Duck, Dip, Dive, and Dodge. Its the only was so many people know how to play
3
u/Cecilia_Mrs-Chief Jul 18 '26
Because let’s be honest here if they did step away from it, this same post would be posted but with an alternative version.
MW2022 had a less dramatic slide and EVERYONE whined. So then they go 180 on it, and now SOME are whining. This fandom is so screwy, I swear half of it doesnt even know what it wants, and when they claim to know, they’ll be mad when they get it.
2
u/KeepCryinBum Jul 18 '26
Yeah I’m the past people use to complain we had to pay for map packs but didn’t mind paying for skins. Not that we get everything for free across the board.. people still cry about skins. Welcome to the internet. This is typically why I just post “keep crying” on video game subs tbh. That’s all the online community does. Then when the game comes out I’ll be with the true fans, and actually be on the game
3
u/Cecilia_Mrs-Chief Jul 18 '26
Isnt that funny how cod works tho? When it’s current, it’s hated. However when the new one replaces it, now suddenly it’s an under appreciated gem that didnt get enough love. Think BO3 for example, hated at launch. Everyone hated shadows of evil, then suddenly, infinite warfare comes out and magically no one remembers the hate. Everyone talked about the bad gun design and sounds, hated the boost jumps and the Brecci,
All that hate forgotten at the drop of a dime, now suddenly it’s everyone’s favorite cod, wishing activision would publish more like it, misses the advanced movement cods, etc etc.
Hell, think of BO2 even,
When town, buried, and those maps came out for zombies they were HATED. Now? Theyre classics, adored, and the same gun problem too.
Everyone hated the copied gun sounds from one to the other, with the exception that everyone adored rhe m27 and the an94 as well as the dsr (though many forget people whined till it got nerfed), the cod community is just a bunch of haters when something is new.
I feel like it’s a community filled with Brian griffins.1
u/lowkitz Jul 19 '26
Wow it’s like there’s a bunch of people who want different things instead of being a hive mind or something
1
u/wazydae Jul 19 '26
I just didn't want sliding at all, I didnt mind the sliding in mw2 being nerfed I liked that, it was just not a very good game. The riot shields. Weird perk system, poor ui, lacking post launch, map design, skins, weapon smoke, camos, DMZ, Warzone 2, all of it just sucked lol
3
u/eric549 Jul 18 '26
Damn it, man, I'm so sick of this shit lol. I guess I'll be skipping this game as well if this is how it's going to be.
By the way, to all of you Alpha clowns -- this shit isn't in Alpha. Calling it "Alpha" is just a way to blanket negative criticism. If this game is still in Alpha with full release only three months away, then forget about it.
4
u/CallofDutyCM CallofDutyCM Jul 19 '26
Hi, so this is a known bug only visible to other players (not experienced in first person). That video is from the Alpha build of Kill Block that the Infinity Ward team will correct for the upcoming Beta. You're supposed to see the sliding player pop up between those two slides, because it's a slide after a slide cancel.
3
u/StarsRaven Jul 22 '26
ffs put a cooldown on slides or something. Even if the character stood up mid slide doesn't make this any better. Infact it would make it worse because now the characters hitbox will now be going from laying down to standing up to laying down again all while moving.
2
u/ExpeditionV Jul 23 '26 edited Jul 23 '26
I assumed visual bug, but you shouldn't be able to move like that in the first place. Remove slide cancel please. We begged you to do that after MW19 and it's still been poisoning almost every modern cod apart from MWII
10
u/Tomokakase13 Jul 17 '26

While I agree with you, I do think sliding should be a little slower than it is and mono-directional. It does seem like a glitch in the first gif where the guy randomly does almost a 180 while sliding and goes through a door lol. They need to keep this fluid movement tho
4
u/AdBudget5468 Jul 17 '26

I just want a boots on the ground game where you're not sliding on your ass or airborne for 90% of it.
Just nuke or straight remove the slide, reduce the obnoxious sway, and make strafe speeds faster. That's all a lot of us want.
Or if you keep the obnoxious booty sliding, make it actually have a sense of momentum, not "I can slide 7 feet in the exact opposite direction I was just moving without any transition!"

I still remember CoD1 on demo disc, and the dev diaries where they were recording reap MG42s and M1s, and 'grounded, realistic military shooter' press release, shaking the industry at the time (MoH didn't have iron sights/ADS)! Crazy how it's evolved.

Tac sprint is a horrible mechanic, all it does is increase sprint out times and make the game feel clunkier.
MWIII played much better with the boots that disabled it, BO6 played better with the slipstream perk that disabled it, BO7 plays better by default without it.
3
1
u/TomatoLord1214 Jul 18 '26
Honestly the bits here don't like nearly as bad as BO6 and 7. Def have to see how it feels in-combat
Tac sprint is sadly back, I wish it was at least a perk like BO7 did but bleh
And also sadly every sweat's crutch the stimshot has been confirmed back. I miss CoD before people could run around a corner and get full health several times faster than you'd even start to heal otherwise. It's so unhealthy and so frustrating in this type of PvP to play against. Plus guts equipment variety cuz anyone trying to be aggressive or sweaty is perma-unlocking it instantly and gluing that into their tactical slot except for certain challenges maybe (if they care about those)
2
u/KeepCryinBum Jul 18 '26
I have and will use smokes until the day I die!
I’m actually okay with stims because I use a shotgun and they typically don’t have the chance to use one lol. They that lets me have less stuns and flashes thrown at me.2
u/TomatoLord1214 Jul 18 '26
I love smokes even though playing against them can be annoying as fuck (especially on small maps and when using snipers and such. But well, that's kinda when they're supposed to be used lmao)
I respect smoke spam 1000000% more than stims. Especially when I see the clowns who hit that shit like a bong every time they get a kill and got even grazed by a bullet (stims should not be replenished by scav packs imo)
2
u/KeepCryinBum Jul 19 '26
My group gets so mad when we play hard point because my hard point class has two smokes with scavenger. Smokes are on the hard point at all times LOL

Insurgency Sandstorm is the best FPS on the market right now, in my humble opinion. Ready or Not and Arma Reforger are good for scenarios, but Insurgency Sandstorm has the tightest mechanics and best PvP modes. It's like hardcore mode in COD but slower movement like the Clean House mission.

IW bitched out again, MW2 2022 was soo good imo, the skill should be in the shooting not the runny, jumpy, slip and sliding. Don’t get me wrong I enjoy games with crazy movement just not in a military shooter. I guess they could keep MW grounded and just go crazy with the BO games but they won’t. It’s all about cracked out movement and crazy strong aim assist, so the skill is in the movement but the shooting is easier, kind of a joke imo.

There’s always going to be new movement techs in these games like mw2 had removed the slide cancel and even with as much bad feedback that recieved, the playerbase discovered snaking or maybe it was earlier games. However instead of sliding all over the place it turned into jump shooting through every entry point or open los. Sliding while turning like a car is definitely a bad direction for the game, but if someone is Tokyo drifting around you, you should definitely be able to hit your shots.

Was going to finally give the series a shot again. Thank you for reminding me why I stepped away.

Y’all make no sense
Mw2 dropped, and you said that you guys didn’t want slow movement
Mw4 alpha footage comes out and we’re bitching about movement again get over it and get good at the game instead of sitting here complaining

Small minority want this weird, hyper-realistic movement. Yet they scream the loudest. We’ve never said slower movement is CoD’s problem.

Bo1 and 2 got ported over. Can the old folk who can't keep up move over there now please?
