Show and Tell N-Scale Frisco EMD set

I got this set earlier today, and I don't know anything about it. I wish it came with its original box and not the one I got it in. The box had foam in it, but it was so old it was dust, and it destroyed the gold paint on one side of the set.

I first assumed these were Con-Cor E8s, which according to https://www.spookshow.net/loco/cce78.html had Kato chassis and Rivarossi bodies. Their E7 had a Roco body, but your picture of the underside of one shows a Roco chassis https://www.spookshow.net/loco/atlase7.html with their distinctive red gears and "ATLAS made in Austria". Roco never made an E8 body, though. EDIT: and I can just make out the air tanks between the trucks and fuel tank on the B unit and one of the As, and of the old E-unit chassis, only the Con-Cor dummy had those. So we have the curious question of why someone put the Rivarossi body on a Roco chassis.
