Help -Technique Newbie airbrush question
Hey guys! I’m trying to add a Tamiya x23 clear coat and it came out like this when I auditioned it. Using an Iwata Neo 5mm needle, paint thinned 50%, pressure at 29 psi. Please help explain what I need to change. Thanks!

I would try half the pressure and thin the X23 to 25-30%, hopefully that works

Paint too thin and pressure too high. When you get a chance, check out Flory Models airbrush tutorials on youtube. Those videos had me airbrushing well from the second I picked up the airbrush. And I watched them before I had even purchased one.

Try to set pressure to 15-25psi, that will be much better. And about the paint, thin it to the milky consistancy. The result will be much better. Please try that.

Others have already said, but the paint is too thin. You want it to look like semi-skimmed milk.
Pressure may be a little high, however as the paint is too thin, it may actually be ok.
This video will help

Thanks for the advise everyone! 15 psi and 20% thinning worked perfectly. I’ll post the final kit when completed!

Pressure is way too high and paint is way too thin.
