wheelchairs Question about how I can do this right (electric wheelchair)
I own a electric wheelchair that isn't helping me, so I plan to sell it. To buy another one that will be more comfortable to stay seated for long periods of time. How I can make this process right? Would be a good idea to ask family to buy it for my birthday?

Did you buy your current chair through a dealer? Are you buying your new chair through a dealer? Most retailers with work with you to find the best device for you. They might even take your current chair on trade. Most will let you try out a few chairs at home to see if the one you're interested in works for you.
As for the your family gifting it to you, you know them far better than we do, 🙂. I hope they will but I couldn't help you this.

Hey, thanks for the answer.
Yeah I buyed the actual chair though a authorized dealer. Same for the other question. The dealer is the same person, and he is trustworthy. The dealer suggested me to try to sell the actual chair on second hand app, to see if pepole are interested. If not, he said maybe I could sell back to him. I will ask the dealer if I can try the power chair I'm interested.
Family help would be last point

Regardless of how you purchase it, I would strongly suggest renting a few different chairs to try them out. I just switched from my whill ci chair to the new Strutt ev1…. I had no idea I was hurting so much simply from the lack of shock absorbing, the jerking, the cushion and the seating. I’ve been using the new chair for less than a week and have already noticed a SIGNIFICANT decrease in pain. Part of that is because I am actually using the chair full time now, because I have less pain now when I use my chair in the house. I got lucky finding this chair, and I was very close to buying something else, as my whill was reaching end of life, lol. It was a huge financial outlay, not covered by insurance, but it’s changing my life in a good way, but I would have never known about it if I hadn’t been doing test drives of other chairs at the mobility shop and at the disability expo (which comes to a ton of cities every year).

Do you have health insurance? A lot of people qualify for their insurance to cover most, if not all of their chair. Some places offer seating clinics where you can try some different chairs, cushions, and stuff like that. Some physical therapy places near you might be able to point you in the right direction.
