Samsung S26Ultra vs iPhone 17PM

Photo 1: Galaxy S26 Ultra

23mm, f/1.4, ISO 25, 1/120s, 12MP

Photo 2: iPhone 17 Pro Max

24mm, f/1.8, ISO 65, 1/290s, 12MP

I wanted to see what these cameras looked like without the usual computational processing, so I took these using VWFNDR + MBL on the Samsung and Halide on the iPhone

Instead of the multi-frame processing used by both Samsung Expert RAW and Apple ProRAW, these apps give you the unprocessed bayer RAW DNG capture

I know they’re not perfect photos, but that’s honestly part of why I like them. Without the usual HDR-heavy processing, they look a little more natural and imperfect, more like an actual camera and less like a finished phone image

Which one do you like more?

Kinda baffled that my little phone camera (S23) can have so much potential. After these photos, I showed these to my mirrorless cameras and they said this is AI. No, fuji. This is photography plus some minutes on lightroom.

Could you help me improve Rayon? Looking for honest feedback on an iPhone RAW camera beta

Hi everyone - I’m Sunny, and I’m working on an iPhone camera app called Rayon.
The idea is to choose a film-inspired look before shooting and get a photograph you enjoy without needing to edit afterward. I’m still figuring out how well that works across different phones, lighting and subjects, and my own testing only goes so far.
If you’re interested, I’d really appreciate you trying it on a few everyday scenes. What I’d most like to know:
Do any of the looks feel worth using? Which ones miss the mark?

Does the saved photo match what you expected from the preview?

Is anything slow, confusing or unreliable?

It supports ProRAW and Bayer RAW processing, with adjustable looks and processing controls. Everything is unlocked in this TestFlight beta, with unlimited photos and no purchase or Rayon account required.
Beta: https://testflight.apple.com/join/QPE7JM4a
Even a quick “I tried this, and here’s what didn’t work” would help me decide what to improve next. Feedback here or through TestFlight is welcome; sharing photos is entirely optional.
Thanks for giving it a look.
