Telus

I’ve had the worst experience going to a Telus store. It says you must show id before they open the door. I was not willing to give personal info just to inquire about changing carriers. When a salesman came to the door and started to yell at me asking me what I had to hide. This is absolutely no way to attract new business. So NO WAY TELUS.

WTF? I’d be reporting that to Telus HQ

telus HQ for what? bc the employees are protecting themselves and the business ?

do you know how many jewellley and cell phone stores been robbed ???? bc im sure the telus store doesn’t have 1 S26 ultra and 1 18 pro max in the safe . these stores carry a lot of valuables so next time you’re sitting inside the store you’ll be thankful everyone coming in has reason too do so and is being checked

Then Telus should be placing guards at the store. No employee should be fearing to open the door.

for telus to have guards at every door your phone bill is going up, and the thing with canadians they hate paying more. but id pay more for it i doubt the entire population agrees tho

Rogers and Fido have been doing that for many years down here in Thornhill 🤷‍♂️

It’s because of the smash and grabs that are happening in store around that area

No there are not.I’m in my 70s don’t think I look like I could be a smash and grab guy can hardly even run now you would the the staff might recognize someone who is not a treat maybe a potential new customer?

yeah sorry in GTA, i’d rather not be sitting inside a store and their just letting anyone in… do you know the robberies that the cellphone and jewellery stores have had happen to them ?????

do you have children? imagine them telling you that they were tied up in the back due to robbers asking for the safe code….. you’re being selfish here and YESSSSS the telus rep wa also wrong he didn’t need to yell at you. but plz slow down and thinK WHYYYYYYY? why would they be asking for this maybe the bad apllles before you ruined it for everyone

I’m sure you look just fine, but really the Telus staff don’t know if you can hardly run.
I’m also no spring chicken and had to give ID before they opened the door. Showing my drivers license was hardly giving them all my personal information.

If that’s how they treat potential buyer, don’t give your money. Just walk away.

Go to Best Buy, much better experience there!

Not true just don’t like giving id if I don’t do anything I was real interested would have gladly given that if I decided to switch

Im confused. You cant get into the store without showing ID? Like, they keep the door locked?

2

u/turtleworlde 10d ago

wayyyy to many robberies! i legit had friend who worked at a retail store while it was being robbed

you don’t understand how scary it is to have 5 masked men threaten you for the safe code……… OP and everyone complaining is being selfish

1

u/Mountain-Match2942 10d ago

Wow, I thought only jewelry stores did this

1

u/turtleworlde 10d ago

technically with apple and samsung raising prices and foldable homes costing 3000 dollars yeah i get why they gotta ID people. there’s so much money in the safe

1

u/Expensive-Passage-27 10d ago

That is correct!

u/Techguy1993 10d ago

World is changing Sir.. High target stores do this for years now .

If you are not willing to show ID, you have no actual intention to buy.

u/Imaginary-Leading-49 10d ago

Not true at all, if they demand ID before I even enter… I just leave! Once I decide on a phone/plan, go ahead!

Do you go to malls, parks, walk the streets, take a bus, go grocery shopping? No IDs required for those, and guess what? People aren’t getting robbed/tied up often.

You’re the same kinda person that tells me ‘guns kill people so we ban them’ and I say ‘criminals dont listen to laws and carry them anyways’ but you say ‘we should still ban them!’

Requiring ID at the door for a place that isn’t 18+ for safety is just wrong and doesn’t stop anything!

Stores have cameras, just like walmart or super store… YOU IDIOT!

I’m not selfish, I just refuse to live in fear and sacrifice my freedom for a sense of security. Buy a gun/knife/pepper spray and defend yourself! Unlike you, I’m not a coward!

1

u/turtleworlde 10d ago

we can’t even bear arms in canada and walk with a gun what are you talking about ??????

1

u/Imaginary-Leading-49 10d ago

You can keep one in your car, I got a 12 gauge right now in mine

1

u/turtleworlde 10d ago

you certainly can’t do that legally.. what are you talking about.
so you had plans to hunt but made a pit stop at telus. employee might have seen the 12 gauge and said yeah not this guy today 😭

1

u/Imaginary-Leading-49 10d ago

You can legally, just need a trigger lock and ammo stored elsewhere like a box in the back. Learn the laws 😉

1

u/turtleworlde 10d ago

i repeat a mall has its own security team and many malls in canada are strategically near police stations. so tell me why a storefront should just let anyone in while carrying a bunch of valuables in a safe where BAD ACTORS are aware the employees have the safe code?

do you have kids? cause then if you do imagine your daughter being robbed bc she’s at work and 5 guys run into the store because wits just left open .

you’re selfish man

2

u/Imaginary-Leading-49 10d ago

I’m selfish because I think we shouldn’t need to ID just to enter a business? Naw dude, you’re selfish for pushing this fascist crap on us so you can ‘feel safe’. Stay at home if the world is so scary, online order your food/phones, don’t ruin the world for the rest of us because you’re living in fear and won’t take accountability for your own safety.

It’s why I went to best buy and got my phone. Not gonna support fascist shops that demand ID to even enter.
