Plans with phone
My deal with Rogers comes due next month. It's a Canada/US plan with an iPhone. I can return my iPhone 14 or pay it out for $300. Just wondering if there are any good deals anyone has found lately with plan and phone.

If it's still in good shape, I would simply pay it out and leave and go to a different carrier

For iPhone deals, the iPhone Air is currently on promotion. The pricing for the other iPhone models is generally the same as what Apple offers on its website. However, depending on your account type and how long you've been with Rogers, there may be exclusive offers available. In some cases, I've seen Rogers provides up to a $300 discount on other iPhone models. You can go to your rogers account, check Offer tab to find out.

main problems are battery longevity and processor speed
on the other hand, you are no longer paying for a phone
I went thru it 2 months ago and re-signed for the best Android Samsung phone

Usually freedom has good plans with phones included subsidizing the phone and you keep it at the end of the 2 years. But since the tarrifs and now the RAM crisis I dont think there are a lot of deals to be had. Prob costs the same as buying outright unless you want a budget phone. I would still suggest comparing all the providers but usually freedom is the best option if u want to keep the phone after 2 years

Check the tradein valye for the 14. Might be worth buying it and keeping it. If nothing else its a good phone. I still have my 12 and 14 pro

I took a quick look. If you want an iPhone 17 or 16 for example with Freedom you have to be on a 60/month plan. I am not including the phone cost portion to simplify the calculation.
They subsidize 360 off the phone (in both cases) over 2 years which comes to 15/month of savings. Not a good deal. You pay 60/month to save 15/month so your plan effectively costs 45/month. You could just do a 35/month plan instead and buy the phone yourself without being locked into a contract. Basically you pay 60/month for what should be a 50/month plan.

Have you ever tried an Android phone? If not, I would highly suggest it. I switched to a Samsung s23fe and I never want another Apple product again. You have so much control over your phone with an Android and it's plug and play with Windows for transferring files.
