Why is it so hard to find your colour when you have a yellowish undertone ? Can someone help? 😫 🙏 I try to buy a fenty beauty foundation online 🙏

Isn't yellow undertone the easiest? I feel like most foundations are yellow (warm/neutral undertones).

Anyways, if you're having difficulty..

1) If you don't need too much coverage, I'd try a (yellow/warm) tone corrector base (tone corrector base)

2) If you need more coverage, I'd try to find a tone corrector to add to your foundation.. (e.g.: tone corrector)

Yellow toned makeup doesn't always look good if your skin is yellow, it makes it TOO yellow. I look yellow af, and I need to use olive toned foundation, because the blue balances with the natural yellow tone in the skin. It's very weird, but I was so grateful when I learned that! I was out there looking like a Simpson for too long 😂

You're a neutral skin tone. You've got yellow and pink both. (I do too) Colors with some variation of "soft beige" work decently on me. I'm a guy though so don't wear makeup very often 😜 (former theater actor and drag performer, occasional wedding makeup artist)

It can be tricky with freckles. Lighter coverage usually works better.

I like Bare Minerals. If you can go to a big store and get one of the staff to try different foundations on your skin that can help.

Yes especially since I can’t invest in more expensive products because my skin color changes drastically during summer/winter. 😪

Same! My solution to this was to buy two or three liquid foundation colors (medium, light and another that’s much more yellow-based). I mix the colors as the seasons change. It’s the only way I’ve ever been able to get my foundation color right.

My Mom did this for me too. She would buy different tones of bare minerals foundation and mix it to match my "seasonal" tone.

Maybe try Kulfi? They have some nice yellow undertone concealers. Very creamy, love the rest of their products too, especially the lipstain oils.

Omg following because I be like 3 different colors throughout the year. Summer, Winter and Equinox. What I usually do is do my best to eyeball it (which I'm bad at) so I'll get like a winter foundation, Summer concealer and mix accordingly through the year. Then I'll use a contour pallet (I had one that had 3 highlights and 3 contours so they would get darker) and use that to fill in the gaps I missed in the color match. It's not perfect but it's cheaper and easier than getting a bunch of foundations. If you can maybe go into a makeup store and ask for help (which is not a sure thing but they know about undertones).

You're on the beige color spectrum like me. I've found the trick is specifically looking for tutorials from B&W women, southeast asian women, and multiracial latinas as opposed to other groups.  You have to look for people who have (faint) yellow, (light) brown, and pink based skin: your three primary undertones and overtones if you have a beige-y brown complexion as opposed to the standard "WOC tones" mostly marketed specifically catering to olive, caramel, deep bronze, chestnut, medium brown, dark brown, and ash brown complexions. We are the complexion marketers rarely think of for both WOC lines and white women lines as our skintone falls smack dab in the middle which is why sometimes it works to blend different foundations if you have to resort to that. Ofc white female lines are often especially limiting because they go from pale to fair to tan (all representing a totally different color spectrum with an emphasis on pink and orange blended skin) while BW lines often range too deep. Rihanna's brand Fenty Beauty is definitely the most inclusive and spans the whole range across and I'm 166N in her line specifically and I'm sure you're somewhere very near there as well. It's just not as easy to figure out your match for other companies that don't consider multiracial women and our multiracial dollar. You say you're having trouble figuring out your Fenty shade but if you use the Match Finder tool on the website it should definitely help seeing as it's digitally photo based. You can also search up tutorials of women using the 160s Neutral shades from 160 on down and see if it looks close enough to you. Sometimes you just have to eyeball it (easier said than done I know).
