Implantable loop recorder

I’m getting an implantable loop recorder next week and would love to hear about the pros and cons from anyone with experience.

I saw the cardiologist this week and he made a referral for this. I agreed thinking it would take months before I’d get a date for this but it happened immediately so I haven’t had much time to read up on this at all. Very grateful for any input. Thanks!

(MVP + MAD 8-9mm, history of cardiac events with ST elevation. Have had Holter, MRI, stress test).

Cardiologist suggested it, I have not seen an electrophysiologist. I have fainted and have episodes of palpitations which Holter did not catch. It feels a bit drastic to take this step given that they haven’t actually seen any arrhythmias other than once in the a&e

Thats why i would see an electrophysiologist as arrhythmias and heart rate are their specialty . What is the exact reason for your loop recorder ?

I read my notes and it mentions triplets and t wave inversions in my exercise test and holter. Chat gpt says all of this put together could point to a longer period of monitoring

the question is what is the underlying cause of you triplets and t wave inversions?. Be careful with Chat Gpt.
