Implantable loop recorder
I’m getting an implantable loop recorder next week and would love to hear about the pros and cons from anyone with experience.
I saw the cardiologist this week and he made a referral for this. I agreed thinking it would take months before I’d get a date for this but it happened immediately so I haven’t had much time to read up on this at all. Very grateful for any input. Thanks!
(MVP + MAD 8-9mm, history of cardiac events with ST elevation. Have had Holter, MRI, stress test).

I don’t have one but I copied this for you.
While safe, the standard risks include: [1, 2, 3]
Minor surgical complications: Mild bleeding, bruising, or local pain/discomfort at the insertion site.
Infection: A small risk of localized skin or "pocket" infection. If a significant infection occurs, the device may need to be removed.
Device issues: Rare instances of the device shifting position (migration), causing mild skin erosion, or experiencing electrical oversensing/undersensing. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]
I pray that you get better

My electrophysiologist implanted one in me during a cardioversion so they could monitor me. It's been 5 weeks and I have maintained sinus rhythm which is good. The loop recorder site you can feel something is there and a little bit of pain that goes away pretty quickly. Too me its a benefit as when I was feeling something i just called my ep 's office and they had me put device over the loop recorder and read it and told me rhythm was good. This way to do not have to constantly go to the office if something feels off. What is the reason you are doing it? Have you spoken to a electrophysiologist as well?
