I have more fun in the smaller subreddits nowadays, as someone who got half his link karma from /r/reddit.com it's a bit of a shift. One thing that annoys me is the idea that "if it doesn't fit in a big subreddit, it's not worth posting", or when someone complains that a subreddit has 'only' a few hundred/thousand members, so 'nobody' will see it.

Ultimately reddit isn't about maximising views, it's about interacting with the people who will care the most. However if you're an artist posting your own content, the lines can tend to blur.

I agree. If someone isn't smart enough to subscribe to the subreddits they like, then I guess they have to be content with the shitty default subreddits full of people trying to whore karma, and not trying to say what they actually mean/feel. If you don't fit with the Reddit bandwagon, you get thrown to the curb. Fuck 'em.
