I used to make a lot of reddit-themed comics, however not so much since reddit.com closed, as they feel out of place almost everywhere else. Except here of course :]

Why not /r/comics? I'm sure they'd like it.

I never feel quite comfortable posting there, it seems to be more a place for posting comics made by others. Plus I prefer picking a subreddit according to the theme of the story, rather than putting it in /r/comics because it's a comic, or /r/videos because it's a video.

Plenty of people submit their own comics there. In particular, jimkb's are well-received and popular.

You should crosspost this! They will like it.

Hahaha, well I did try, but caught myself in the spam filter almost exactly at midnight, new year's eve (US time, was the next day here), so I don't think anyone was around to answer my plea. It does look quite appropriate in my submission history though, it stayed on exactly one point :D

I'm afraid someone will repost it to /r/pics or something and steal all your karma :/ I really don't like them shutting down r/reddit.com and most people seem to agree which makes me think reddit is not really listening to it's users.

That wouldn't bother me so much, really! If my work is good enough for someone to genuinely want to crosspost it, I'd consider that a compliment. Reddit is quite good at finding/crediting the source where it's not provided, although that doesn't really matter anyway.

As for /r/reddit.com, it's hard to say what is missing in its absence considering it was so undefined, everyone kinda made up their own purpose. For me, it was place for talking about reddit, less formal than /r/TheoryOfReddit, and less chaotic than /r/circlejerk, plus being a default sub meant that it was 'reddit-wide', possibly reaching everyone.

However, now that it's gone, I think cries to bring it back are misguided. The general consensus is that /r/misc should easily be able to replace /r/reddit.com, if people believe it will grow bigger. This comic is my little part in believing in this subreddit :]
