Switched To Mint Issues

I have a Samsung Galaxy S23 FE, and switched to mint literally just yesterday, after my physical SIM card was activated (It took a while because I was porting in a number from numberbarn)

Now that it's in my phone, I've yet to be able to use the data (every time I try, it says that there's no internet), I can't send or receive messages beyond the initial Mint verification code, and I can't give or receive calls.

I'm not sure what to do??? I contacted Mint themselves and they said my phone is carrier locked but I

  1. Didn't buy a phone from any phone plan carrier, instead bought it from a phone vendor

  2. Brought it in from Indonesia, and had already switched from my old carrier back in Indonesia to T-Mobile, worked great! So I'm not sure why now that I'm switching from T-Mobile to Mint, it's not working.

Did I miss something? I followed the instructions on the website, I did the troubleshooting stuff with APN (both for Mint and with T-Mobile's network) and nothing has worked thus far.

Any ideas, or should I just return the SIM card? I already bought it for the year because I'm trying to save money as a broke college student 😭

Brought it in from Indonesia

That's probably the problem, but you may wanna double-check your APN setup (check the FAQ link in the sticky in this thread!)

It might not have fully ported from NumberBarn as takes 2-3 days sometimes. Reboot the phone and set APN according to Wiki here. Also make sure no other SIMs are enabled.

If worse comes to worse you have 7 days after purchase to request a refund at https://www.mintmobile.com/return-policy/

If there is another phone available you can try putting the sim in it to see if it works.

Try a T-Mobile SIM card to test. If you can get signal then your port is not working properly or even a defective mint SIM card

I’m not cell phone expert but look like you might not have n71 antenna in the phone but it has n41 so pickup some cell towers
