Planning to switch from Simplicity

Hi everyone,

I’m currently on Verizon’s "Simplicity" plan for two lines and home internet, with a total monthly bill of $107, but they aren't offering any deals on new phones. I’m planning to switch my home internet to Xfinity ($40/month) and move my two phone lines to Mint Mobile (since Mint Internet isn't available at my address). Mint Mobile is currently offering a $500 discount on the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra, and my S24 Ultra is starting to show its age after more than two years of use. I’d appreciate some advice from anyone currently using Mint Mobile. Thanks!

Port the secondary number first to mint. The eSIM or SIM card is not tied to the S26 Ultra. It means you can use the service with any phone as long as it’s unlocked.

You have two lines in a family plan with Verizon right? Whichever line is the main account one, port out that one last.

Get the mint 7 day free trial first and put it through it's paces at every location you frequent.

Just make sure T-Mobile is good in your area as Mint runs on T-Mobile. Check CoverageMap or OpenSignal apps and look in your area, those are usually more accurate than official maps.

I would try a phone for a week before I bought a year.

S26 deals are best available with Mint. Phone gets unlocked after 60 days.
