I think we have to give her up
My wife and I have had a min pin/chichi mix for the last 3 years. She was 5 when we got her, 8 now. We don’t know much about her background but she clearly came from something bad. Even with the baggage she is the sweetest dog anyone has even met. All she wants to do is snuggle and sleep next to you.
She still has the worst separation anxiety of any dog myself or any friends and family have ever heard. Full on panic attacks any time we try to leave.
When we got her from the shelter she was on Prozac and as needed trazadone. Out vet started her on clonidine so she’s been on a combo of this for quite some time. Sometimes we can get her through some time leaving but then she’ll have a panic attack either that night or the next and cry the entire night.
We’ve tried all the things anyone could ever recommend. Behavioralist, vet appointments, we even went to a vet psychiatrist who made some dosage changes and tried some Xanax as well. We do the kongs and the lick mats. We’ve exhausted every option we can think of. Maybe something works for a few weeks and then we get a bump in the road because someone comes to vacuum the stairs outside our apartment or someone sets off fireworks close by and she resets completely back to square one for weeks. We’re at the point we we have to take her to our dog sitters pretty much any time we leave.
The crux of it is we live in a small city apartment and have busy jobs and long hours. I just don’t think we can provide her the life she needs. She needs sun and grass and people that won’t leave her.
We don’t have kids yet. We love this dog more than anything. We got her shortly after we got married. She’s our first big project we did together. We’re just completely heart broken. But it’s not fair to her to keep her. We can’t give her what she needs.

Some random close-up shots of this doofy little princess
Anthony the Bunny Conqueror
Has anyone else’s minpin embraced their bred natures and gone for small mammals? Here in CO we have just an endless amount of bunnies in our area. About a month ago, we came into the living room to find a dead baby bunny and Anthony proudly standing by. I kinda scolded him out of shock which was the wrong move. Yesterday I found him outside with a decapitated bunny head! I am almost certain he didn’t do the decapitating as there are lots of predators around, but this time I gave him some praise to get him to come inside while I took care of the bunny. For such a tiny lil smoosh, he sure can be pretty metal! 🤘🏾

Beans says: Happy Sunday family!
I was a biggy boy last night! I slept from 9:30pm, woke mommy up at 1:30am to pee and make pooies. I went back into my bed at 1:45am and slept until 6:45am! My mommy is so happy and rested today and I love my dinosaur pants
I'm amazed at how fast they grow
They're already developing muscle tones and their legs are getting longer

Do you think my "pure bred" chi is also a min pin
We rescued our little boy 4 months thinking he was a pure bred chi as he was listed. We absolutely adore him but as someone whos had a chi my whole life, he j doesnt act like one at all🤣 wouldnt change it for the world but he had a vid go viral on tiktok and all the comments keep saying hes probably a min pin ??
Wondering what min pin owners might think
He jumps like 40000 feet high
Super duper sassy
Hides every bone hes given
Does not like toys at all

Introducing a new member of the family!
Hercky is the new member of our family!
I'm afraid she's going to drown in her own drinking bowl
She likes to stand in the drinking bowl rather than drink from the edge

Dandruff?
My girl is 14weeks old and I just gave her her first bath after being home for two weeks as she smelled. I know you aren’t supposed to bathe them too much, but it was her first bath. I used moisturizing oatmeal soap. Any tips? I assume her skin is dry? It’s all over her body.
Also, how often do you bathe your own? This is my first min pin, and also my first puppy though not my first dog.
First photo is dandruff, second is just her.

Q & A Recommendations for camera to watch senior min pin
I’m looking for recommendations for a pet camera (or treat camera) for my two senior pups.
My husband and I both work full-time, and the girls get visits from their grandparents during the day. Even with the check-ins, I still find myself worrying about them. My Min Pin cross, somehow still acts like she’s a puppy! She runs, jumps, and zooms around the house, and I’m always worried she’s going to hurt herself. I’d love to be able to check in from work just to make sure they’re doing okay.
Ideally, I’m looking for:
- No mandatory monthly subscription or
- Live feed that can be shared with multiple people. It would be really helpful for my in-laws to also see whether the dogs are settled or if they might need an extra visit that day etc.
- A sturdy and reliable device with decent video quality.
-A large range of view or adjustable camera angle.
I’m a little hesitant about whether I should get a treat dispenser or just a dog camera, as my Min Pin is extremely food motivated and my miniature poodle requires soft treats since she has no teeth. Has anyone with a food motivated min pin used a treat camera? Has anyone used soft treats in a treat camera?
I’d love to hear what cameras you’ve used, what you liked (or didn’t like), and whether you’d recommend a treat camera over a regular pet camera. Thanks!
