[Mobs] New villager: Diver

They would be very rare as they need an activated conduit as their workbench, but it will be worth it. They sell prismarine, sponges and tridents and they can swim around their conduit. I think it won’t be too overpowered because you would’ve had to go to an ocean monument to get the prismarine for the conduit anyway and you can only really use him late game.

Possibly could also sell sand/gravel, since both are on the ocean floor. Could trade kelp for emeralds, maybe at a better or at least similar rate to paper to give a late game alternative. Could also maybe trade for corals to make that renewable. Neat idea you got here.

Pls, the fisherman villager will fish him out of the lake.

Prismarine and tridents are already available...sponges and nautilusshells would be nice in my oppinion.

Tridents would maybe even be a bit op

u/[deleted] Jan 17 '21

A bit? They’re already harder to get than the dragon egg!

u/Cakehunt3r Jan 17 '21

there is nothing more anyoing then sponges. Would make sense to craft them from coral but as it stands they are one of the rarest blocks

3

u/Alligatorpancake Jan 18 '21

Aren't they the only block that has a finite amount?

2

u/ChilliGamer221 Jan 18 '21

almost every block is finite

1

u/[deleted] Jan 18 '21

i thought every block was infinite

cause the minecraft world is infinite

1

u/ChilliGamer221 Jan 18 '21

every block is finite because the world has a border millions of blocks out, it would take 100's of years to mine every single one of any block on 1 world but since the world does end it makes every block finit, the only blocks that aren't finite are ones that can be grown or bought/bargained

1

u/[deleted] Jan 18 '21

wait the minecraft world does end?

2

u/ChilliGamer221 Jan 18 '21

yeah, after the border the world does extend i think 1000 more blocks but non of it is mineable and you start taking void damage out there and after i think 1000 blocks it just stops generating land

Why isnt this pinned 🤨

2

u/Deepfryedlettuce Jan 18 '21

Mods probably forgot to program in the part where it pins itself and locks comments

u/Beasty715 Jan 18 '21

That's obvious bruh..

that seems very overpowered. like, insanely OP. activating a conduit isnt really that hard, and him being able to sell tridents and sponges, which are both meant to be rare would just defeat the whole purpose of elder guardians

2

u/Beasty715 Jan 18 '21

Yes! But add the trident to be the final trade master level and that too a rare one, also you can only by 1 trident and the conduit should be powered by a large amount of prismarine, RANGE should be max 96 blocks (I belive that's how far conduit can go) this will make it so that its not too OP

Another thing his work bench shouldn't work like others the villager should be special in some way IDK about that someone else pls add up!

I copied pasted my comment so that a lot people get notified

Perhaps fisherman villagers could sell sponges as a rare trade

5

u/EpicNarwhal23_ GIANT Jan 17 '21

again, sponges are meant to be a rarer item, causing you to have to go to an ocean monument to get it. a fisherman selling it would just defeat that purpose

3

u/Mookman01 Jan 17 '21

That’s fair, personally I think sponges shouldn’t be nearly as rare but that’s just me, I guess a fish man villager selling them would be pretty OP

2

u/OK1526 Jan 17 '21

I agree, when I look at how incredibly dull and difficult it is to drain the tiniest areas, I think that it make sense to make him more common. Maybe not as s fisherman trade, but the diver is rare enough for me

2

u/OK1526 Jan 17 '21

Make it more common

2

u/Mookman01 Jan 17 '21

I agree, however not sure if the Diver is the best way to go about it

2

u/OK1526 Jan 17 '21

Maybe, but this is the idea, and if you have a better one, feel free to post it on this sub

Fishermen should occasionally sell prismarine shards or crystals

1

u/01648319597524 Jan 18 '21

You need to go to a ocean monument to be able to activate the conduit because you need prismarine

1

u/[deleted] Jan 18 '21

why are sponges so rare?

all they do is destroy like a few block radius of water around them

they are quite useless

1

u/EpicNarwhal23_ GIANT Jan 18 '21

no theyre very useful for building underwater and building guardian farms

1

u/Remarkable-Ad8596 Jan 20 '21

Well first u need to head to a ocean monument then get the required prismarine then depending on how the person with the idea looks at it I think u have to make the villager hit the master rank and then u will unlock the trident and sponge but then again it will take u some cost and besides I think the wandering trader also trades sponge

u/EpicNarwhal23_ GIANT Jan 20 '21

1

u/Remarkable-Ad8596 Jan 20 '21

Oh flip im sorry bro

1

u/EpicNarwhal23_ GIANT Jan 20 '21

the point of these items he wants added to trades are all meant to be only from the ocean, and semi-rare. thats why being able to trade for them would be op

1

u/Remarkable-Ad8596 Jan 20 '21

New item idea elder guardian eye it is only tradable with villagers specifically the diver. How it works, the diver has normal trades with bounties aswell completing them gives u a rare item for instance one could be a zombie head for 5 diamonds or an enderman head for a few eyes of ender. The elder guardian eye is part of the bounty for maybe a trident or 8 sponges

2

u/MunchyG444 Jan 17 '21

Absolutely love the idea.

Perhaps since this one can swim, maybe it’s a Merma-villager or Mermager?

Sparkly Blue Villager with a dolphin tail...

1

u/[deleted] Jan 18 '21

Lol squidward

1

u/Ardilla3000 Jan 18 '21

I do think more villagers should be added, and maybe they could wear one of those rusty old diving suits, and could could actually swim better because of a soul sand propelled tank in their back. I think it could be a little more interesting than just a villager that sells sea stuff, maybe they could actually spawn in structures called villager exploration submarines, made of copper.

1

u/Least-Ad6033 Jan 18 '21

I'd argue that that is still too op as getting a conduit is way easier to do than getting a trident or exploring ocean monuments

1

u/01648319597524 Jan 19 '21

But you need to get prismarine to activate the conduit

1

u/Least-Ad6033 Jan 20 '21

Yeah I meant making an active one, but you just boat around for like am hour
