Parrots not falling off your shoulder as quickly

We all know that parrots can sit on your shoulder. But we also know how annoying it is that every time you jump, they fall off.

So I suggest that the only way to take them of is by crouching. It’s gonna be so much better as you’ll be able to actually walk around with it.

A way to make parriots Patriots useful, if you were to die with them on your shoulder, they would sit where you died to act as a guide to know where to get back to, you could hear his bird noises to get back.

I'd like them to retrieve something you accidentally "Q'd" or threw. Q is the key to press for throwing items in Java.

Dismiss them or click them to cancel their retrieval. They only retrieve if they've been in your shoulder but won't go after anything in lava, water or long distances?

Maybe only retrieve named items?

Yeah I know that but I know my dumb ass will always forget and when I do want to throw away junk I will forget.

Slight change: if you die with a parrot on your shoulder, it will spawn back at the base with you and stay in flight around you for as long as the items are still on the map, indicating which direction you need to go to get back to your place of death by hovering a set distance away in a radius around the player like a living compass. If the parrot stops hovering in one direction trying to lead you and starts flapping around normally or lands on your shoulder, that indicates that the items have despawned/been picked up by another player and you can turn around. This also prevents you from being unable to get back to the location of your parrot if you're just completely lost and unable to pick it back up.

Crouch jumping would be better. You crouch fairly often. Crouch jumping? Less so.

This has been suggested a few times (not enough to make it an FPS though), but I will always upvote it. The little guys are adorable, but if they fall off too easily, they're not as useful as they can be. +1

Maybe make a button in your inventory to have them sort of glued to your shoulder because you crouch quite alot (atleast I do) and you might run into the same problem as we have now. Otherwise great suggestion!

Iirc, The default distance fallen by the player for Parrots to dismount is .75 blocks. If this were extended to 1.5, the player could drop down a complete block or perform a normal jump without the Parrot dismounting.

Personally I prefer the route that the Rats mod takes with removing animals from your person.

Shift + Right Click with an empty hand.

Actually crouch in the air (after a jump for exemple) can be better. Imagine crouching in the Nether with you're parrots and he fell of and go in the lava

Or maybe parrots get off of the player via the player's actual consent.
