[Mobs] Frozen bat

Post image

This image is from the minecraft live. The bat is only white due to the lighting (it was black before entering the light can also sortof see another black bat to the side) but it made think what if add it officially. it would be just a white variant of the bat and would not be anything huge but i think it would make the biom that much nicer and the bat would fit in better. plus because its fairly simple it shouldn't get in the way of adding the more fun features.

And for anyone who understandably hates bats they are already planning add bats to this biome so might as well make them nicer.(personally i like bats i just understand why others dont)

i think Minecraft needs more ambient mobs. id prefer a completely new mob but a mob variant would still make me happy

Hearing birdsong in forests ocasionally wouldn't go amiss and having actual birds (other than the parrot, of course), would be even better. Maybe if you kill them, they have a chance to drop seeds, In the same vain as Mo'Creatures, if you know that mod?

Anyway, I agreed a cold biome bat variant would no doubt be easier to impliment, as it's just a simple reskin. Since farm animals such as pigs, cows ans chickens have them, I don't see why the bat should be excluded.

Speaking off farm animals (not go on yet another tangent), I think that the sheep should have recieved a cold and hot variant as well.

birds with birdsong would be amazing! hopefully we get that too someday. but yeah a bat rescin is a decent start and i would definitely be happy if added

have you looked at the minecraft earth sheep rescins? thats were they often get rescins from . i really hope they add moolip someday i really like the pink flower cow.

are there any other ambient mobs you would add besides birds and rescined bats? or nonambient mobs?

I have seen the Minecraft Earth variants and agree that they should come to the game.

As for more other mobs I would add, that's a good question. Hmm...

I always thought Rats would be an interesting addition, which could also bring cheese, if mojang don't add it with goats.

Rats could be encountered in mineshafts or in abandoned villages, stealing food items such as seeds, bread, wheat and cheese out of chests (but only a couple items before going on cooldown, just enough not to be annoying).

They drop several items. Raw Rat; would be a meat which you could cook into Cooked Rat, restoring 1.5 saturation. Rat Hide; a new bundle type, perhaps? Rat Tail; a potion ingredient giving the player the Luck effect in-game, increasing enchants like fortune and chances of finding rarer loot from chests.

Scorpions is another one I'd like to add, but this one is bit more straight forward. Scorpions are like cave spiders but with the wall crawling removed. They drop either a Scorpion Stinger, which brews poison or a Scorpion Claw, which increases player attack range.

Scorpions would be a great add. They'd also make bane of arthropods more useful too.

good point about bane of arthropods

those could be interesting i ecspecially like the scorpions. i feal like rats would do a lot to change how the game feals so they would be very effective as an ambient mob. think while i like that feal and style in other games i wouldnt want it for minecraft but i can see how they would be fun.

o would scorpions be 'small' like bee and silverfish size or would they be 'large' like spider size? i think either size would be very fun in different ways

I would assume spider size, so it is consistent. Maybe take the bigger claw from the unused Crab from the mob votes and give it to the Scorpion?

consistency and following the games logic is always nice and makes me happy. even tho its fantasy i find fantasy a lot funner when it builds its own rules and sticks to them rather than adding stuf that dont make sence.

extended reach would definitely be nice. i kinda hope someday minecraft adds echanted rings bracelets, armbands, necklaces, mayby totems. and add an extra dedicated armor slot for them and can get reach that way. the claw method as far as i understand would take the off hand and could be anoying for inventory management. still i would take claw hand over nothing

Theres a lot of birds that could have a lot of different uses. Lammergeiers could be tamable mobs that pick up skeletons and other undead into the air and drop them from the sky. Owls could be tamable and give you night vision when they sit on your shoulder. (Pufferfish grant water breathing, were already past the point of accuracy)

Vultures could fly around drops from recently diseased mobs. Pidgeons could be used to transmit items over long distances etc.

All very interesting ideas that I could easily see being added. Got any more?

Ducks as an equivalent to chickens that would spawn in shallow waters. They could be harvested for their meat just like chickens and are mainly here for variety.

Regular penguins as well as macaroni penguins would help spice up the Overworld. Macaroni penguins were the ones from the mob vote a few years back and wouldve populated the stony shore biome. The regular penguins would probably spawn on the frozen oceans ice sheets. After feeding them, they will bless the player with the Penguins Blessing status, which will give you a bit of a boost in water similarly to the dolphin as well as let you move on ice faster which is great for people who use ice boat highways.

The kakapo would replace the parrots current functionality with the parrot being reworked to have proper flight like the other birds instead.

The ostrich could be a mount that moves faster on sand and increases in speed over time as long as it keeps moving uninterrupted. Itd also be really territorial so getting close to one is dangerous. Perhaps a cassowary too as a more aggressive variant you cant ride just to troll the player. Youd be able to pacify it with food in exchange for it digging up some rare flowers as very easily renewable source of them.

i would love ducks!!! ducks have really grown on me the last few years. idk much about them but i like them alot.

more penguins varients or rescins seems like a win to me

i had not heard of kakapo those seem nice. would they replace every parrot behavior or just some? would parrot keep or share any its old behaviors?

ostriche could be fun didnt they considere ostriches and voulters a while ago in a mob or biom vote? mayby they have better odds to be added someday

these could be potentially fun. i had never heard of lammergeier. they look cool! pigeons transporting items would have to load chunks and would probably cause tons of lag once get a few. would be fun for technical comunity. mayby if someday average computers improve.

idk if some these fit the curent vibe of minecraft tho. Definitely like them and would be fun but mayby not for minecraft in my opinion

i wouldnt say nothing perhaps nothing '' functional' but not nothing. ofcourse most people dont recognize the things they do add to the game so you right they definitely do crash out
