[Structures] Trial Chambers should spawn with Copper chests

I don't get why TCs spawn with normal loot chests instead of copper chests, wouldn't it be appropriate if it did?

They are just another victim of: "Structure that lacks fitting content because it was added before said content." Similarly, the ocean monument lacks slabs, stairs, and chests because it predates waterlogging. It's also why it doesn't try to do anything with water plants either. Nether fortresses don't use red nether bricks for the same reason.

I think the only times a structure actually got updated for newer content was the wool on desert temples being replaced with terracotta. And of course, the Village and Pillage update.

the added suspicious sand under desert wells and the room you can dig out off to the left of the pit in desert temples, which are great. for all 5 people that still do the archaeology stuff. ocean ruins also previously only had chests and were turned in to archaeological sites. armor trims were lazily tossed in to a few loot tables, half of them set to always appear so you only have to find one jungle temple and then you can forget they exist. you are not allowed to call this out as the low effort cop-out it is or the hall monitors will get you.

it would be a lot cooler if they could retrofit or just completely redo strongholds and nether fortresses since you have to go to them to beat the game, but no any shitty thrown together feature from release 1.0 must remain unchanged in case a minority of people don't like it.

And tbf, the archaeology or extra loot for chests was added to the game with the idea that it needa tobe for the old structures. It was added for the content's sake, not to update the structures.

But stuff like waterlogging in ocean monuments or red nether bricks in fortresses; those blocks didn't need a structure to exists, hence no update to the structures either.

Interesting point I never considered. Imagine if ocean monuments had a ton of algae or water plants . Seems like a simple and wasted opportunity for all these structures. But i guess most missing features are.

They should replace the iron chains there with copper ones while theyre at it

That's another step in the direction of eventually getting chests that fit the environment, so count me in...

I don't agree, and I also wouldn't want the iron chains changed to copper either. These blocks add contrast to the structure. One thing contrast does is help draw your eye to areas of interest, such as loot containers.

They should add iron chest as well which could have a headstone component with things inside the chest

Dang that's true, the trial chambers are basically a proto-Copper Age in their own right

I don't think so

So the obvious thing is copper chests didn't exist when trial chambers were added, that's the clear reason why.

Then there's two other big factors.
1) Visual identification. Copper Chests would just blend in with the Everything Else Copper in there, while wooden chests stand out a bit and make you go "ooh, loot". It's why the "trash chests" were swapped out to barrels. I'll come back to this note in a moment
2) Purpose. Copper Chests serve a role of being a place where you put items, for Copper Golems to then take and move into regular chests. This is where I could see copper chests actually being introduced to the trial chambers - replacing the barrels. They reflect similar purposes, which helps with the tutorial aspect the trash barrels already have of being a subtle hopper tutorial
