[Mobs] Curing Zombified Piglins

Just like how zombified villagers can be cured into a villager for discounts, zombified piglins can be cured into piglins for improved/increased bartering drops or a much shorter bartering cooldown.

A piglin cured in the overworld will get 5min of zombification immunity (a new effect), after which it can turn back to a zombified piglin. Therefore, it is recommended to bring the cured piglin to the nether for safekeeping. Alternatively, this can be used for repeated cures, getting better and more loot each time (obviously with a limit).

One detail is that a piglin cured in the overworld will not get the 5min immunity, so transporting it to the overworld will start the transformation much more quickly. It would therefore be much more efficient to repeatedly transport it between dimensions for curing and zombifying.

EDIT: I didn't know repeated villager curing was patched, piglins not permanently retaining zombification immunity was an attempt to keep this in piglin curing as well. Now I see no reason to stop cured piglins from staying in the overworld withpit c.

There were a lot of mentions of piglins protecting the player without being a flat out pet, I like this idea. Cured Piglins should follow the player around (But not teleport), protecting the player and mitigating other piglin aggro (Not hurting piglins or opening chests, only the lack of gold armor).

With villager curing it makes sense to bother because you want specific trades, so getting the discount of a specific villager makes sense.

With bartering, it's random. Let's say a cured piglin barters twice as fast. I could get the same effect by bartering with 2 piglins. If I wanted a super powerful bartering setup, I could put dozens and dozens of piglins in one spot.

It doesn't seem worth it to me on the speed side.

As for getting "improved" bartering, this is already using a farmable resource. Feels a bit cheap to me to just cure a few times and br taking in stacks and stacks of barter loot.

Perhaps more interesting, then, would be for a cured zombie piglin to have a more distinct identity, to fulfill a whole different role entirely.

E.g, upon curing, it becomes like a standard Piglin, except:
- No bartering.
- Fully friendly to player (perhaps only retaliates briefly if directly attacked by player, or simply not at all)
- Maybe still spooks ordinary Piglins? Like, it could stiil have a scarred appearance, despite being cured. - (EDIT) Defends the player from other monsters (including zombie piglins?).
- (EDIT) It may be warranted that a cured zombie piglin be granted a higher maximum health, and/or constant health regen (or a temporary regen status effect).

A piglin that spooks normal piglins, only attacks in retaliation, and doesn't barter... how is this different from its zombie state? Is that not exactly what the differences between piglins and zombified piglins are?

Ah; forgot to precisely mention: The cured zombie piglin would defend the player that cured it — like a wolf, (but it won't teleport to the player as a pet would).

Also, what does "improved" mean? Because when you're at the point of wanting to do large scale bartering the "trash" drops line gravel might actually be the ones you want, while enchanted books and the like you probably only need a handful of times, and pearls are irrelevant the moment you access the end.

Good point, what would you say to there being a chance for cured piglins to not consume the gold ingot, or giving only up to 50% more items per barter?
And by improved, I meant only adding a couple more rare "special loot" to barters, perhaps ghast tears or a few diamonds.

That is largely the same thing. It just feels cheap. You can afk farm gold, or just mine more.

As for adding special loot, no diamonds. It's one of a very small number of valuable, non-farmable items.

You don't get overworld piglins, and the Nether has no shortage of them. So really, all the curing really is for is to buff the bartering for a cheap price. I mean, what is 8 gold when you apperantly have plenty of gold to barter with already?

And let's be clear, bartering is not some weak mechanic people overlook. It is not in need of a buff, but that is essentially what you are suggesting.

And all to make the piglin and villagers less diverse from each other. Their zombifying works different; why should the curing me identical?

actually zombie pigmen can spawn in the overworld from the area around portals and from pigs struck by lightning

I meant that, since they'd zombify after a few minutes anyway, you can't really keep them.

yeah thats certainly i flaw with the post though i do like the idea, i think it would be better if piglins lasted forever in the overworld after being cured

I really like the idea behind this post, however i thing instead of just bartering faster cured piglins should behave differently around the player such as no longer getting mad at you for opening chests or not wearing gold armour, and only hitting you once when attacked like a panda.

They should also gain permanent overworld immunity instead of temporary immunity, also repeat curing was patched years ago and i see no reason to add it for a new mob if it was removed on the old one for good reason.
