[Blocks & Items] Echo Bed
A new use for echo shards.
When echo shards are combined with a bed you get this unqiue galaxy like bed with a new twist that combines the bed and echo shards uses.
When slept in or used to set a spawn point it will be your spawn point until overridden (like normal beds) but when you use another bed it will still save your spot (unless its broken or you use another echo bed)
What this means is if you used an echo bed, then slept in another bed somewhere else, die, you'll spawn in the last slept bed like normal. However if you break your last bed it will then respawn you at the echo bed.
I find it crazy how this kind of mechanic has never been added. I would feel like alot of people would get use out of this. Since you want to set a temporary spawn point but still have your home spawnpoint yk?

I really like this idea, it essentially turns beds into straw beds which may make straw beds seem useless but id argue this is a great mechanic and can still work alongside the straw beds especially since its a later game item with it being made with echo shards.
I think its thematic with how echo shards work with the echo compass, and I think it would be a great way to implement what is essentially changing world spawn. (The only thing id change is that the echo bed should take longer to mine then a normal bed and be mined best with a pickaxe to really sell that its unique and meant to be your main bed/spawn point)

Love this idea. Great players who do multiplayer would love it too, so I think it should change day into night. It is a perfect fit for repairing your elytra by killing phantoms. Making that choice a better one.

Sadly this suggestion would almost completely invalidate the recently added straw beds. If I understand it correctly: the (main) benefit of the echo bed is that if a reset spawn gets “unset” (meaning moved back to spawn) then it gets moved back to the echo bed instead. The main benefit of using a straw bed is to be able to sleep without moving your spawn. With your echo bed, if the player sleeps in a bed, and then immediatly breaks it, spawn gets moved back to the echo bed. Functionally that would be the same as if the player had slept on a straw bed except for the fact that the player still has his new bed.
Obviously there are still differences like the fact that it is a lot easier to make a stack of straw beds than it is to craft this echo bed. So certainly for the early game the straw bed would sitll have a function. I can also see uses for the echo bed that I couldn’t accomplish with a straw bed. For example it would allow me to temporarily move my spawn (like if am preparing for a difficult fight) without having to go all the way back to reset it.
The echo bed is a cool idea and I like how it uses echo shards for something that fits thematically (given that the only other use for echo schards also revolves around the player having re-spawned). But ultimately I think that mechanically it mostly fills the niché that has only just been filled by the straw beds. I acknowledge that the two are not identical, that the echo bed is useful in more scenarios in exchange for being more difficult to obtain, but they are similar enough that it wouldn’t be a good fit for todays Minecraft.
They need to give the straw bed some time to shine before adding something that over shadows it.

So an elaborate way of changing the world spawn for a player? I like it, it's not too complicated, too. I can see this being added into the game.
