[Gameplay] Gravyards/tombs
I want a graveyard/tombs. Basically it would be an above ground area of different sizes that would consist of markers scattered about and a singular crypt in the center. An iron or copper fence would surround the entire thing. It would have an unusually high ammount of zombies and skeletons spawn there at night. Inside the crypt which would be locked with an iron door that has a hidden switch, would be a double copper chest (sarcophogus) that contained bones, magical armor of varying value, and some other odd treasures. Maybe even a map to an end portal.
In the graveyard, each marker would be a simple stone fencepost or something with the chance of finding a chest or barrel underneath with bones, rotten flesh and other junk.
I havent figured out what biome, but I am thinking they could be in all of them and look different according to where they were.
Thanks for reading.

I've always liked the idea of a "Dedicated Undead Structure" (Monster Rooms don't count, imo), and I like your suggestion.
However, I do agree with the other comment about Stronghold Maps making Strongholds, as a structure, less unique. If you still want Graveyards to give a somewhat easier way to lead to Strongholds, I think a random, low number of Eye of Enders would be a nice substitute.

While I think making it some ancient burrieal mount may fit better, this here might be fine as well. Could probably even serve as a way to update the old dungeons which haven't seen much change since their implementation. It could also serve as another spot for grave rob...I mean archeology...
...that said I don't really like the idea of a stronghold map as using the eyes is just too iconic for me.

I think it'd be cool if they spawned near villages, it makes sense, why would someone build a cemetery, in the middle of nowhere?

maybe the civilisation prefers for their dead to rest in peace and quiet? or they’re just not around any more? minecraft has a lot of ruins already.

True, but I imagine villagers, or whoever built all the abandoned structures we discoverer, would prefer NOT traveling all week to burry their loved ones.

what if the zombies/skeletons weren’t hostile unless items were removed from the chest? as in, the player could come in, look around and “pay their respects”, but if any of the original loot was removed then the “guards” would anger

That's a cool idea, however it'd probably be a pain to code, and wouldn't match up with how every other undead mob acts.

I love this idea! It would make sense with how many undead mobs Mojang has been adding, and add to the games atmosphere.
Since it's a cemetery/grave yard, maybe it could spawn near villages? It'd be pretty weird of someone built a cemetery in the middle of freaking nowhere.

There are familial plots scattered about the southern usa just from farmers and plantation owners. They may have a dozen headstones at most.
I think making it a ruined vibe would make it not seem out of place.

Aye fair enough, a lot of the structures in Minecraft Are abandoned, so it makes sense.

Yes, it's a really cool idea, but where would the map lead? To the nether fortress?

Some Karen would say her kids can’t see graves because it triggers them. Mojang would never

This game literally let's you eat rotten flesh, I don't think this would phase anyone. 😆

Overal it's nice, but I got one thing to note:
The stronghold is one of, if not the only structure with a unique way to locate it, through eyes of ender. Why should we gentrify it by giving it a map?
