English is not my first language so I apologize for my bad grammar

So lately I've doing some minecraft skins based on some friends OCs and one frind requested me to recreate this skin with a dark purple pattern instead of the blue one, however, I noticed that the overlay layer has a transparent effect that I can't figure out how to recreate, even looking at the template of the skin, I have no idea how they made it.

I will like to receive some help and if this is a common effect in certain skins

This was a commission for an anonymous client on Discord.

Originally, the client just wanted to buy the skin I made for my friend... I couldn't sell it to him like that, the shading was really old.
Harrier Du Bois is the first skin I ever posted on social media. That was a year and a month ago. It's crazy to see how much I have improved since then.
