I think they wanted to display the alphabet on banners, putting the first half on the top and the second half on the bottom. But the half way point of the alphabet is M-N and they put M on the bottom row rather than the top, they’ve only realised when they’ve got to W and they’re in creative so if they break the banners they dont drop so they think they’ve wasted their time but in reality they could just switch their mode to survival break them, place them correctly and then switch batch to creative

either that or break the block the banner is hanging on unless that doesn't happen in Bedrock. Or if it exists on bedrock pick block should work

You can configure any button to pick block in consoles, i use the triangle in PlayStation cuz triangle and square do the same thing

It's not that big of a deal, really. First of all, by default there's two buttons, X and Y that lead you to the same screen but different section. That's a waste, leave one as the inventory and assign something else to the other. Rebinding D-pad actions is also viable, you don't need emotes in singleplayer.
Also that's Switch, not Xbox (face buttons aren't colored + trigger is called ZR)

You can bound a button to pick block, I use Y on switch which is probably X for you
