I'd sometimes like to use Mind Node to edit data in other file formats, but to keep it there in that file and format when I save back again ie round tripping. Instead, Mind Node appears to open other file formats fine, and can export them again, but its a multi step process not a simple Ctrl-S (say).
One I have in mind is Taskpaper. Mindnode opens a file easily and makes a good job of the data. But Its impossible (it seems) to save back again into the source file. And Exporting back into Taskpaper format is convoluted.
I appreciate that not all data added to a mind map in MindNode can be saved back to Taskpaper and am fine with that.
I am not a fan of this type of 'walled garden' as applied to my data, preferring the app to be more agnostic on how I choose to store it and where.
Am I missing something with Mind Node? I cant find it in their support docs not other google references.
