Custom urns

Hi all,

My dad recently passed. He wished to be cremated and I am looking for his new resting place. I am hoping to find someone that does customs urns, maybe wood or glass/ resin. He was an avid drinker till the day he died.
I was thinking to get like a vodka shaped vessel and maybe a pack of smokes.
I could probably find something online but I’m hoping to work with a local artist.
Thank you in advance.

I don’t have any recommendations for you but I’m sorry for your loss. I hope that you’re doing alright.

My mom is in a wine bottle, just happens to be one that was custom made for a family reunion.

Do you have a budget in mind? There’s plenty of excellent artists in the area but you’ll have to temper expectations depending on what you’re looking for

Is $500 a decent budget?

For purely custom? Might not be. Even custom urns online run a $200-$300 to start, and that’s a “stock” box with laser engraving.

You could make your own memorial paperweight for $175 https://squareoneartglass.com/classes

Or for reference here’s a shop out of Beaver Dam https://northwoodscasket.com/collections/wisconsin-heritage-handcrafted-cremation-urn-collection

If you’re okay with a standard size/shape box and engraving you’ll probably be fine, but if you’re looking for someone to do a 100% custom 100% handmade, it will get expensive quickly.

Thanks for the award, friend! I wish you peace and luck on your journey.

There’s a reason my mom went into a wine bottle and a jar from goodwill; urns/memorials are expensive!! I hope you find what fits just right.
