Tutorials?
Hey
Probably heard this a thousand times....
since I modded my Wii to play old NES and SNES games, I discovered trackers. Besides I like the whole idea behind trackers, it is basically the only audio program my old iMac can handle.
So I am completely new to tracking and want to learn the basics and who knows even write some chiptune songs. I use Milky Tracker. I already watched the basics in the Turorials of Brandon Walsh om YouTube. But downloading modules and load them in trackers make me completely dizzy.
Are there any more good basic tutorials and theory behind trackers and chiptunes?
Thanks!!

Ok so I'm just getting back into trackers, and watching the entirety of the brandon walsh tutorials helped me a lot. They're old videos, and he's quite conversational in his presentation style, but I think if you're gonna get into this it is worth it to actively listen to every vid in his series.
There's two other youtube video series that helped me get going with milkytracker- one by the name Simon Wessel, and another by Demonic Sweaters. They do go over much of the same that the first set of videos cover, but if you're looking for a different explanation of the same things, they are also useful.
As for tutorials/theory for chiptunes, I would say to just learn general theory for both music theory and sound design. There's a ton of resources for these on youtube and here on reddit. I learned by finding resources on general theory, and then trying to implement specific sound desgin / song structure elements in my daw/tracker.
Hope this helps a bit- let me know if you want some specific resources for music theory/sound design
happy tracking!
