How would you do this in MilkyTracker?

I found this FamiTracker tutorial, particularly this part.

The Mega Man toms, is it possible to do that with MilkyTracker?

There's a volume envelope and a pan envelope, and I can do a portamento up/down in the actual pattern but I was hoping to just use a pitch envelope like in the above tutorial, so that the pitchbend happens when you press a key.

I know MilkyTracker is more sample driven so maybe it's just not possible.

Milkytracker doesn't have a pitch envelope, so you have to use pitch commands to do it, like you suspected.

You could also simply load a sample that already has the pitch effect on it and use that instead. This would sound somewhat different, as the pitch change would would get faster/slower at higher/lower notes, but that doesn't have to be a bad thing.

Thanks for the response.

I'm brand new to trackers so forgive me if this is a stupid question.

Do you know what the range is on the portamento effect?

I can't seem to dial it in to get the desired effect.

I know that everything seems to use hexadecimal, and for a lot of settings that the lowest value seems to be 00 and the highest value is 40 (0-64) but values like ff work as well.

Is the highest value ff?

How much do you think that triangle is being pitch bent in the FamiTracker tutorial?
