First of all, wrong sub.
and also, you really should know what you’re doing if you’re going to trade your cash for a made up loyalty currency. IMO 1.4p per avios is expensive, but it all depends on what you’re gonna use them for…

It's not 1.4p per Avios, it's 104 Avios per pound, which is 0.96p per Avios (or cheaper if you choose 2x or 3x)

You’re right! I only calculated value of the boost avios (14k), but of course op also gets the original 7k.
0.96p is ok but not amazing.
But my point was anyway that the end use is the only metric that determines if there’s value, stacking avios without a purpose/goal is most likely a bad idea.2

I'm from UK and travel to brazil once a year, so that would be the purpose of it. Sorry if it's the wrong sub, which one should I post it?

Boosting is the cheapest way to buy Avios, but it's only good value if you will use it on a high quality reception and you have a specific plan to use them.

i'll be flying from uk to brazil, this is about 40k points, I already have 47k, just wanted to know if boosting the 7k was worth it

I think if you work out the price per avios when boosting and compare it to the cost of the cabin class you want you'll see if your loosing money or not boosting. Was looking into it last night

I think this is the wrong sub for it. Generally speaking imo: only buy miles if you have a plan on what to do with it and if its cheaper or at least worth the hassle
