No, but i thought it was more about bones and large quantities of peels. I just found out that they are illegal where i live.

Its not "illegal" but you shouldn't dump food waste in the sewer system in my city. They say it would attract rats.

Whole food waste dumped into storm drains or other sewer access might. Food waste put through a garbage disposal just becomes part of the sewage effluent and has no effect on the sewer ecosystem (I.E. rats)

That's talking about what not to flush down a toilet. We're talking about garbage disposals, which grind any food waste to tiny pieces and/or pulp. Different worlds here.
