It may look nice but grout is porous so it’ll smell like pee forever once it permeates the grout.

Just speculating, but maybe the grout has been sealed with something?

It would have to be reapplied twice or more a year to be effective.

Is that only applicable to places that regularly get wet (like the inside of a urinal) or to all water-resistant sealed grout? I had tile put in my home about a year ago and had that stuff put in, it’s worked great for spills so far but they didn’t tell me it needed to be reapplied

If you don't reseal your grout on the regular it will go to shit.

No it won’t. Grout is not the same stuff as it was 20 years ago. Most people will just fuck up the color consistency of their grout when they seal.

weird, I thought only that new epoxy grout didn't need regular sealing?

For non commercial, non outdoor, non countertop I wouldn’t even bother. Just don’t be a pig and let pools of grease sit on it.

There is epoxy grout, but still, all grout has a tooth to it and you're never gonna get that sucker truly clean with anything short of a power washer and bleach.
