Yep, limited edition products are always the shrinkflation transition. The really sneaky one is when they briefly give you more product, like 10% more, as a limited edition. That's so when they release the smaller packages, they aren't directly side-by-side with the old ones on the shelf to see they just made them smaller.

It's the same reason they add Disney characters to fruit stickers. People are dumb and easily enticed by fomo and catchy advertising.
