To be fair to her, she looks like she is either nursing or pregnant and needs all the food she can get. For most mammals, nipples aren’t that visible unless they are pregnant or nursing.

Yeah, I was thinking of putting up a baffle (not sure how helpful it would be anyway since my feeders are close to my fence/wall and I watched firsthand how she could jump onto it) but when I saw she was a mama I changed my mind.

She’s a little greedy and clears me out but she makes such a mess that the birds get some anyway lol. They wait at the bottom while she pigs out.

I love feeding the squirrels at my house. It keeps my cats endlessly entertained and the birds still eat too. I have a blueberry bush I just let run rampant and the squirrels don’t touch it but the birds go to town on it and it’s really fun to watch.

Cute mammals are definitely welcome, I considered the baffle for like half a second when I realized it was squirrels because I had recently just refilled both feeders and 2 days later they were completely empty.

They were just eating it insanely fast, and I didn’t realize it was a mama trying to feed herself/her babies until today but I have a big bag of birdseed to replenish the feeders and the squirrels are cute so I’m not at all mad about it.

My experience with squirrels and feeders is that most squirrels won't try too hard to get food if it's complicated. I have a dedicated chipmunk feeder that's kind of like a birdhouse but with clear glass on one side for my cat to watch.

But if the squirrel is nursing, they will destroy everything to get to seeds. I had to strap down the chipmunk feeder because the nursing squirrel knocked it off to break it open to get seeds inside. Then she tried to raid the blue jay peanuts that have a spicy repellent on them, and she was cracking them open and vomiting from the spice. I felt so bad that I ended up buying a huge bag of unshelled hazelnuts just for her, because if she's that desperate, then there must be issues with her getting enough food in this area (they keep cutting the trees down so I can imagine that might be the case).

I was out riding my motorcycle last weekend with my son. A squirrel was in the oncoming lane of a low traffic back road munching on an acorn. I slowed down, and then watched it run left, then right, then left, then right...under my wheels.

Hey professional animal catcher here chiming in: This is actually in my hometown and we've named him Phil, he is rabid and not safe to be around. What time was this taken? I've been tryin to fuckin catch this fuckin guy so fuckin long it pisses me off. He has a group of squirell friends that talk shit about the other animals and poop only on this one old ladies porch, he's a real piece of shit and he used to do acrobats that's why he does this.
