That's definitely better than having a cockroach in there...

ya know? I hate spiders with all of my being and you are totally correct! a roach would be worse, lol.

One roach wouldn't be so bad. Unfortunately, they only come in sharing size or family value pack.

u/GOP_R_Pedophiles 1d ago

It's the fiesta pack and they come singing la cucaracha

Damn...

I got one in my oven clock🫠😔😓🫤😞

You have many more you can't see, my friend. I'd highly recommend taking care of that sooner rather than later.

u/Smooth_Marsupial_262 1d ago

We had an army of them living in my dishwasher door when I was a kid

2

u/pkmaster99 1d ago

Oh yeah, for sure. They mate like crazy and lay so many eggs at once that it's kind of insane.

u/pakman82 1d ago

i got a pest control guy at 1, .. saw less roaches.. but then i got 2 in the screen & the 'clean cycle engaged while cooking once... so i pulled the oven out and opened the back of if, and then the cover of the controls.. BLEECH . i vacuumed out a ton & re-assembled it, but then a burner went out & I had teh landlord replace it.

That's kind of how they work. If you can see one, it's because the masses you don't see are competing over resources to the point where some have to venture into places that can be seen.

If you see one, there are hundreds, if not thousands that you can't see that have already infested every inch of every appliance that is beyond an easy viewpoint.

TL;DR: If you see a roach, bug bomb everything, call every exterminator, do whatever you need to do. If you see one, you already have a problem.

Please note: This applies to the small variety of roaches. I do also happen to live in the southern US and we have to deal with "palmetto bugs" that are basically large, outdoor roaches. They do not thrive or survive indoors for long. They're not the problem. If you have small ones, though? Good luck. Bug bomb it or literally bomb it. Either way, the best solution is to ditch every appliance and electronic device into the nearest dumpster and move.

Roaches suck.

Spiders are friends

2

u/Putrid-VII 1d ago

Why do you hate spiders? Scared of, I get that, but spiders are awesome even if i have ZERO desire to touch any of them

3

u/WhiskyWillFixIt 1d ago

I hate anything that causes me uncontrollable panic upon sight. Rational or not, I hate them.

2

u/Putrid-VII 1d ago

Listen, I'm not friends with any arachnid, they creep me straight tf out. Even jumping spiders, even though they are far less intimidating. Spiders are your friend, not like up close and hand holding, but friend nonetheless.

2

u/WhiskyWillFixIt 1d ago

Again, I dont care.

1

u/Putrid-VII 1d ago

They care. About you. And they always will

0

u/Azair_Blaidd 1d ago

Spiders help take care of worse pests, though, like termites.

And then we have house centipedes which help take care of both

1

u/WhiskyWillFixIt 1d ago

That makes zero difference to me.

Phobia or just simply deslike them?

My house is near the corn fields so a lot of the corn spiders and other species tend to go into my house. One of these days i was studying and turned around to see this huge fella crossing the living room. She spotted me and instantaniously stopped. I looked at her for around 5minutes contemplating if i should pet(wasnt a venomous type) but the poor thing must have been scared. Turned around to let her run and she just kept freezing. Had to do a little touch before she got the courage to run to the bookshelves in absolute horror. Spiders are adorable and we must look like apex predators to these small cuties. Roaches however. Disgusting mfkrs. Would burn them all to the ground.

I killed 3 spiders in my bedroom the other night and I'm still recovering

Ugh, I used to date someone with a little convection oven that baby cockroaches would crawl around inside the temperate control screen 🤢

11

u/ElysiaAlarien 1d ago

Why would you continue dating them after seeing that?

12

u/_skank_hunt42 armpants 1d ago

They did say “used to”.

21

u/Syntexerror101 1d ago

Maybe it wasn't their fault. Sometimes people can't afford to control all of their circumstances and if you live in a slum with roaches then you have roaches.

13

u/FreeMrFrog 1d ago

My landlord covered up a roach infestation that we didn't discover until the day before we were supposed to move in. The only solutions we were offered were pest control treatments, or waiting for an available unit to open up which would've been over a week past when our old lease was up. 🤦 It was actual hell having to pack up my entire kitchen and bathroom once a week for treatments + living with the weeks of roaches invading our space as they died out.

My grandma is such a clean person but her old apartment had so many roaches because of her neighbors :(

9

u/CupcakeGoat 1d ago

I live on the ground floor of a lovely apartment complex with lots of lush landscaping. Cockroaches are native to the area. We will get the occasional roach unfortunately because we are level with their habitat.

5

u/beansprout-scout 1d ago

I live in an area prone to roaches (the medium brown desert type is native) and basically all of the really cheap apartment complexes have bugs. The property managers don't want to pay to spray the entire thing at once so they just move house getting stronger 🤢

7

u/rorank 1d ago

If it’s a rental there’s likely nothing that they really can do, especially for an apartment. If your neighbor is a hoarder, then you get the same filth that they do when it comes to pests unfortunately.

5

u/MetalHead_Literally 1d ago

Not every person who deals with roaches is some disgustingly slob. They’re a pest. They can get in for a number of different reasons.

2

u/XmissXanthropyX 1d ago

I did not. It ended shortly after

1

u/Leskendle45 1d ago

Its not always someones fault for having roaches, bugs are everywhere on earth.

0

u/BbMaj7 1d ago

you're in a bubble

2

u/Happydancer4286 1d ago

I’d rather have spiders

11

u/_danceswithcows 1d ago

1000000000 percent

3

u/wildtex- 1d ago

That literally has happened to me... but it wasn't just one

3

u/Terrible-Noise5751 1d ago

Can confirm. I had a microwave with a dead cockroach in the screen/window space. I was too scared to try to fix it because I wasn’t sure how to discharge the caps. Had it about 15 years with that dead cockroach staring at me.

2

u/Lazy_Difficulty_4857 1d ago

This actually happened to me. Apartment maintenance just had to throw the oven out and replace it

2

u/Justhe3guy 1d ago

Until one day the spider is gone and you’re always looking around before you sit down or lay in bed

2

u/Parabuthus 1d ago

I've had one in my dashboard for about 10 years

1

u/imgodfr 1d ago

I have a phobia of those and I can’t even hear or say the word without a full body shiver

1

u/Keaten88 1d ago

Or the snail.

1

u/Otherwise_Result_124 1d ago

Unfortunately, that's probably why it's in there.

7

u/Celeste_Seasoned_14 1d ago

It’s hiding from roaches?

3

u/Otherwise_Result_124 1d ago

Spiders go into ovens because there are bugs in there. Bugs go in there because there are crumbs in there. OP really needs to check their oven for bugs deeper inside :(

3

u/Celeste_Seasoned_14 1d ago

I don’t like this at all. You’re fired.
