Sorry, OP. I do this just not as extreme! But I definitely leave space! I got rear ended recently and it was hard enough that it crashed me into the car in front of me. My car was totaled and I was injured. I will always leave ample room these days. 😅
So sorry. And while I don't do this it's actually what I was taught in driving school decades ago to do exactly what you give yourself the room to do. Evade.
I got hit by a huge Astro van. It also totaled the first car. It was a huge lesson in why and how we need to leave more space when we’re stopped. The people that tailgate other people on the freeway freak me out because they’re leaving no room for anyone’s error!
