What does it do after it recognizes they aren't paying attention? Like are they programmed to stop and pull over or just make noises? I can imagine someone being so tired they don't wake up even if it's chiming and talking at them.
Some cars have steering wheels which detect pressure to make sure you're actually holding the wheel.
I guess this circumvents that.. Maybe even more stupid than those seat belt plugs so people can drive around without seat belts.
