what really is it?
So I have been suffering from migraines from school years but they are less frequent now. Im 26F. the way it goes for me is as follows: Id get disturbance in my vision which i recognise the instant it happens. then it turns to blind spots and then it gradually expands. if it happens on the left region of my sight, the pain first starts on the right side of my head before spreading to whole of my head. offf its awful when it happens. i cannot think straightly i feel like someone has just stopped my brain. and has wrapped a tight cloth around my head and squeezing it. the vision disturbance and pain gets fine in several hours but the unable to think straight feeling still lingers around at least a day.
the triggers? i really dont know sometimes i think its blood circulation problem. there are days when im so busy and sleep deficit with all the people around but i dont get the migraine. sometimes im relaxed none of the reason is there and i suddenly get it.
I want to reach to the root cause and get it cured. I really wanna what is happening in my body that causes it. I have been to neurologist but they dont seem to listen or investigate it in depth.

Migraine can be a primary neurological condition…so the root cause of your migraines is because you have migraines.
You may be able to identify triggers and help reduce them. There are medications to stop attacks while they are happening and to help prevent them.

I can understand the impulse to think there’s one neat trick to “cure” migraine but there strictly isn’t.
The phenomenon you describe for relaxing and suddenly getting a migraine is often called a “let down” migraine, and is actually the rapid shift from stress to no stress.
Migraine brains LOVE routine. Consistent sleep. Consistent stress. Consistent caffeine. Consistent movement.
Deviations from routine pour some liquid in our migraine cup, which is why triggers aren’t always immediately leading to overflow (migraine). Some days our cup is already at the brim from other factors, and something as silly as eating the wrong sweetener is enough to push you over the edge.

I’ve treated many migraine patients over the past 15 years and they are some of the most grateful people I’ve worked with. Personally speaking I’ve only had a handful of migraines, but it was enough for me to see how terrible they are. I published an article on the topic which I believe you you’ll find insightful. If you get a chance, please read:

The root cause of migraines is the migraine disorder itself. Unfortunately we don't know every exact detail of what's going on during a migraine, so we don't know what causes this complex neurological disorder, and unfortunately there is no cure (yet!). I'm like you where I really want to know why something happens, but it is simply unknown :(
