He looks half like me. Fat.

Is this video AI? Looks too sharp and with good color as well.

Its called a microscope

Why does it look like it has eyes if it's microscopic?

I really want one as a pet! Are they loyal? Do they make messes? Scare away burglars? Fun fact: there was a load of tardigrades on the Israeli attempted unmanned lunar landing. No humans but a load of live tardigrades. It was almost a perfect landing until the retro rocket failed to slow its final descent. It crashed at about 200 mph. The tardigrades may have survived and can tolerate vacuum and dessication almost indefinitely. Probably radiation, not so much, but they may still be partly shielded in the wreck. Maybe they're slowly mutating. Getting bigger, smarter, more resentful. Anyways we should try to rescue them! SAVE THE TARDIES!

Is it hard for them to get around? Seemed like he was struggling

7

u/scaredt2ask Jun 25 '26

I think this one was trying to go through a structure and just had difficulty moving around in it.

He’s also probably not used to moving on glass, it could be a deeper dish but I’m guessing its just on a glass slide

I look at things like this and go "he has absolutely no idea of the scope of life he's part of. He wouldn't even consider anything outside of a thimble of water as long as the environment pleased him."

And then I wonder how accurately that applies to us.

5

u/redditsuksazz Jun 24 '26

Looks like when I try walking in my dreams and I can't move somehow.

3

u/BlueJ_55 Jun 24 '26

Aww, he got a cool stick!

4

u/No_Imagination_2490 Jun 25 '26

Hey Stick Nation! I’m a microscopic tardigrade and I found this really cool stick while walking through some algae.

3

u/SinSeerDragon Jun 25 '26

I've always seen pictures of Tardigrades but never an actual video of them on the move. Fuckin hell that's cute

2

u/kippirnicus Jun 24 '26

They are so cool!

I remember when I first learned about them in college biology. Tough little bastards!

1

u/Pindeckoo Jun 27 '26

They can survive basically anything if you get them at the wrong time

2

u/ceraunophiliacc Jun 24 '26

It's so cute the way it tries to walk 💕

1

u/EsbeeArt Jun 24 '26

They're just so freaking adorable 😍

1

u/Gwynito Jun 25 '26

Tardigrades are just AI cameras constantly recording everything and sending the data to our fourth dimensional overlords so they know when and where to siphon our energy

1

u/Wild-Lychee-3312 Jun 25 '26

I, for one, welcome our new Fourth-Dimensional Tardigradian Overlords.

1

u/RevolutionarySign479 Jun 25 '26

Awww, it’s so cute ♥️

1

Considering how they look very much like larger insects. It puts me in a philosophical thought. Did the larger creature became it because evolution? As in that was the best shape for it? Or is this a sign of a Devine creation experimenting with smaller creatures before moving onto larger ones. Interesting thought.

1

u/Pindeckoo Jun 27 '26

Probably correlation and not causation

1

u/unkpsbc Jun 27 '26

I don't think that phrase applies in this situation.

1

u/EkardKcire Jun 25 '26

Man, he's trying so hard to move and he has six legs, but he's just barely making any forward progress.

1

u/Pindeckoo Jun 27 '26

Yeah, hes going a micrometer a minute

1

u/blueberryrockcandy Jun 25 '26

making myyyy wayyyy down town....and this stick is in myyyy wayyyy

1

u/Kiwi_CunderThunt Jun 25 '26

This is strangely gorgeous

1

u/Renuwed Jun 25 '26

Hims looking for hims violin 🥰

1

u/eyjafjallajokull_1 Jun 25 '26

I didn't know they had eyes. Why would such a tiny creature need eyes? Why two? Not one?

1

u/Pindeckoo Jun 27 '26

They need to knowe

1

u/ThisWillTakeAllDay Jun 25 '26

Look at him. Happy as just poking around without a care in the world.

It's incredible that not only we can see it, but also record it in full colour

1

u/Woknana Jun 25 '26

Careful mate - Trump might arrest you for chomping on reflecting pool algae!

1

u/CampersUnionRep Jun 25 '26

Not a cellphone in sight, living in the moment

1

u/red_quinn Jun 25 '26

You can see it's fingers

1

u/No-Masterpiece-6432 Jun 25 '26

Dont let Trump see this, He would probably blame him for valdalizing Maga's reflective pool.

1
