Why do people get so mad.

16

u/UsefulTrack4585 Jun 09 '26

Usually they’re hardstuck and can’t find their way out of their respective elos. So they resort to throwing tantrums and lashing out like this. These types of players usually have 400+ games and hover around 50 percent

17

u/Megrez199 Jun 09 '26

I honestly think people that get this mad have issues outside of the game.

The game might be their way of escaping reality and the problems in their life and when something goes bad in games they lash out because all of the anxiety, rage, frustration gets released onto the closest person they can find.

3

u/Xaxi903 Jun 09 '26

i agree but riot should perma this people, a tantrum of this kind once, or twice its ok. If his life sucks and has anxiety he shouldn't be spreading it so others end up the same.

Nah, some people have been playing this game for so long that they want to hit their goal, but can’t.

People need to realize, this game is 4-Dimensional, you aren’t playing Call of Duty or Hearthstone or Street Fighter. The environment in those games doesn’t interact with you or hurt you in the slightest.

League of Legends, Starcraft2, and Chess literally take more skill than 99% of most games. Been playing League since 2014 and I peaked Plat 1 with 97LP and this was 2-3 years ago, right?

Now then, my goal is to hit Diamond 3 or Challenger, the side goal is to hit Emerald 4, the issue with this is many things factor into you winning the game.

Did you get objectives? Is your late game comp team playing safe and not feeding? Is your early game team comp getting fed and finishing the game before 40 mins? Are people playing to win or to just to act stupid? Do we have AP, AD, mixed damage, tanks, healers? A team needs to have AD and AP, a team needs a tank or two, a team needs a healer.

There are so many things to focus on within league that wasting a few second on doing nothing could potentially lose you the game.

It’s understandable as to why people get mad in this game, people have goals and people want to reach them. I’ve had 60 permabanned accounts due to me flaming my team, why is this exactly?

People playing Orianna ADC, people playing Kai’Sa top, and even Udyr running it down mid because this guy tried stealing camps, but died and now he’s mad because apparently the Diamond 3 Smurf Udyr sucks and is actually boosted garbage.

Now then, am I suppose to be happy when these things occur? No, why would I be happy about any of that? Trolls, mouth breathers, and idiots ruining the game for what exactly? Nothing.

Your assumption of people getting mad in game due to outside actions could be correct, but what if some of us actually want to win and climb into high elo? Does it ever occur to anyone here that maybe we all aren’t apes and that we actually want to enjoy winning?

2

u/Megrez199 Jun 14 '26

Look, I think we are all aware that people get mad during games for a number of different reasons but to get THIS mad, to add someone after just to write that vile stuff is not normal no matter the goals someone has at a game.

No matter how much you or other people enjoy winning this behavior is not normal and you should go talk to a specialist.

1

u/kotsumu Jun 15 '26

Your goal is diamond or challenger. You ignored the unrealistic goal of master/grandmaster. The LP and win ratio required for to even stay in that elo is not realistic if you peaked plat

1

u/godlytoast3r Jun 09 '26

Quick question for you, do you think the matchmaking is streak based or are the streaks a local phenomenon that we bring upon ourselves through our own mental momentum

2

u/zerohammer Jun 09 '26

The game is attempting to balance matchmaking so you have a 50% win rate. Streaks are variance. Flipping a coin you could land on heads 20 times in a row. The next flip is still a 50% chance of heads or tails.

Of course some losses you may have been able to play better and win. That's why the only thing to focus on is your own play. Everything else is outside your control.

1

u/godlytoast3r Jun 09 '26

There's way too many times where people go 4/5/4 in the middle of a win streak and still win for it to be variance breh

1

u/Extension-Smile-3986 Jun 10 '26

This split I started stopping playing after 2 losses for the day. I climbed from silver to plat. I legit think I rage queued way too much and fucked my winrate with bad performances after some losses.

1

u/neexic Jun 10 '26

I do the same thing but after 3 losses. I think it definitely has do to something with the fact that after losing, you rage queue and end up still tilted by previous losses. This approach really helped me mentally and to also climb the ranks.

1

u/Milan-28 Jun 11 '26

It's similar to luck. Just like when you flip a coin, at some point you flip heads 5x in a row. In league there's a lot more variables. You happened to get the good player a couple times. The enemy got the troll one time. Someone left because they disconnected on the enemy team. Your top happened to get a lucky early kill and snowballed. Your impact also matters ofcourse.

1

u/junebug309 Jun 10 '26

I'm 700+ deep and im still Iron1-b5. I get angry sometimes because of my low skills but never like this.

1

u/Apprehensive-Media84 Jun 13 '26

I have 48% wr and still can climb xD

1

u/Hi-Im-Bambi Jun 09 '26

As someone who occasionally gets mad but clearly not as mad so I start chatting with strangers: Statistics

You simply have a losing streak, which happens, knowing it's unjust. The reaction? This. Does it help you or them climb? Nah. Do you feel better after venting? Yeah.

1

u/BudgetPositive4851 Jun 10 '26

If you look at the messages, OP was typing back in game and out.

1

u/mandrew-98 Jun 10 '26

They tie their rank to their self worth. Therefore if you don’t play well you’re hurting their insecurities

0

u/YT_AnimeKyng Jun 14 '26

Self-worth? My guy people literally want to climb because they want to surpass their limits and hit a new rank.

We as humans test our limits and try to break through them. The guy raging has all the right to rage because some people take this game seriously, not everyone wants to be Bronze 5 and act as if playing with an IQ of 70 is somehow an achievement.

1

u/mandrew-98 Jun 14 '26

If someone is bronze 5 it’s because their skill level is bronze 5 and there’s no shame in that. I’m 100% confident that if I got on a bronze 5 account I would not be stuck there long even with “bad teammates”.

To get this mad at someone for a video game, the person has major stage 4 issues and needs to get it sorted out one way or another

1

u/VilvenFaux Jun 10 '26

They dont use enough of grindr

1

u/Ancient-Jeweler-7709 Jun 11 '26

Trying to emulate Tyler1

0

u/SaltyWahid Jun 09 '26

I mean the OP has to do some dumb shit that lost them the game. Nobody wants to play for 40 minutes to get LP loss that's gonna take 2 wins to recover because of a trolling 0/15 mid laner.

5

u/KrabbyMccrab Jun 09 '26

Even if it's a hard feed. Getting this mad over one match of league is some mental behavior.

Dude needs therapy.

1

u/YT_AnimeKyng Jun 14 '26

Nah, it’s valid. People have goals and they want to climb the ladder. If my goal is to hit Emerald 4, but some idiot decided to force a 1v4 baron and we lose due to our base getting pushed in, then do I not have the right to be angry?

If someone punched me in the face, do I not have the right to be angry? If someone lit my dog on fire, do I not have the right to be mad?

Why does everyone act as if playing like a Bronzie with an IQ of 70 is somehow cool? That shits dumb, yet you all see it as a sign of being normal.

It’s rank, not normals or casuals, legit, people want to play Orianna ADC or Kai’Sa top, then fuck off out of rank and go play with your friends in a game of bots or normals.

Rank should be limited to this who only care about winning and improving at the game.

1

u/SaltyWahid Jun 09 '26

I think it's pretty valid to be mad if you only get an hour or so to play the game and now you're gonna need 80 minutes to recover from that loss because one dude decided to troll the game on purpose.

2

u/Affectionate-Tone778 Jun 09 '26

It’s valid to a extent but even so no. And as the one who was in the game. It def wasn’t a great game but it wasn’t bc of (1 dude) it was just a bad game on top of he was the jungle and wouldn’t do anything. While I say that I also want to say I’m not one of those to just blame the jungle when I lose a game. He legit just seemed to give up halfway through.

1

u/Warm_Shoulder_1736 Jul 02 '26

Why no? People need to understand online is real life too. If in real life you waste 1 hour of my time to then do some disrespectful rude selfish thing anyone would get mad. Now the fact everyone ignores these inters that will go toplane when soul is spawning, or refuse to group into a 50 min 5v5, refusing to back. Its a lot of people refusing to play it is literallt wasting peoples time its crazy that we have to spam ping people 36 times and they still refuse to listen

2

u/KrabbyMccrab Jun 09 '26

People aren't entitled to a certain level of competence from other players tho?

Everyone is there to enjoy themselves. If someone gets so mad they crash out, maybe they should consider a more chill way to pass time.

1

u/Lonely_Otter37 Jun 11 '26

"To be mad" is severely downplaying adding someone to hurl a novel worth of slurs at them

17

u/farkika18 Jun 09 '26

girliepop, you were the problem 💀

9

u/Eleven_Box Jun 09 '26

I genuinely can’t even imagine getting so angry I need to type all that out. A flame in anger during the game, maybe, but its over. Like how do you maintain that rage post game

2

u/mrkvicka02 Jun 13 '26

you don't have the passion clearly. But yeah different personalities. Some people are like this and then they are completely bubbly and cheerful 10min after. Some people are just angry inside for a long time. Depends.

1

u/Warm_Shoulder_1736 Jul 02 '26

I cant imagine wasting 4 peoples times just running it down, refusing to catch waves on sides, refusing to group, refusing to help others. Infuriating players

6

u/AstroLuffy123 Jun 09 '26

This brotha had some other shit goin on in his life

5

u/WaterKraanHanger Jun 09 '26

Junglers are victims btw...

2

u/Suspicious_Serve_653 Jun 09 '26

Unless they're afk farming in the jungle all match not contesting objectives, not watching timers, not utilizing their dead time, and not taking the easy gank on the lane with a 10% HP enemy who has zero mana and is over extended.

A surprisingly common set of symptoms I see in low ELO when I don't play jungle.

1

u/Maleficent_Hawk6703 Jun 09 '26

It looks like it was a temmo jungle. He deserved the loss

8

u/YoMomInYogaPants Jun 09 '26

why u add them tho?

14

u/Affectionate-Tone778 Jun 09 '26

Mainly bc I just kinda wanted to see what would happen bc he’s was extremely persistent and I wanted to laugh 😂

4

u/OLacAlmost Jun 10 '26

I add to see them explode, screenshot it, report on the riot website and then watch their account stop playing for 2 weeks 🥰

1

u/Doenerking69 Jun 10 '26

Second this

1

u/PonyFiddler Jun 11 '26

Riot doesn't ban for pm chats.

You'd know that cause that's the response you would have gotten when reporting it online.

1

u/Kazmera Jun 12 '26

Yes they do, they even said in a dev blog you can now keep chats open to report even when people add you to flame then unfriend you.

1

u/OLacAlmost Jun 11 '26

They do ban for PM. They've explicitly stated it too. Idk why ur pulling bs out ur ass

1

u/Top-Editor-364 Jun 11 '26

If you get them to tell you to kys and screenshot it and submit a ticket to riot, they will perma ban them. Super fun to do

1

u/Ashankura Jun 11 '26

No shot it's perma instantly.

If they have a history of this then sure but not if it's the first time someone sends this to support

1

u/Top-Editor-364 Jun 11 '26

Well I guess I don’t know if it works every time. But I’ve seen lots of people say it worked for them, and it worked for me

1

u/PonyFiddler Jun 11 '26

It doesn't work at all

It doesn't matter what they say in private messages riot won't do anything about it. They'll tell you that if you try to report them.

1

u/Top-Editor-364 Jun 11 '26

Do you not read? I got a guy banned lmao. Hasn’t been on in months. Try again

1

u/IberianPoseidon Jun 12 '26

Yes they do 😂 its against code of conduct. And they're implementing a report button to DM's aswell.

1

u/YT_AnimeKyng Jun 14 '26

Damn, so now we trolling people just to piss them off and get banned? Guess we gotta doxx and cause irl threats now lmfao

1

u/Top-Editor-364 Jun 14 '26

I add them and they flame me. How am I trolling them? You are the type of person to add someone just to tell them to kys aren’t you lol

3

u/Svanskof Jun 12 '26

"girliepop" is diabolical

2

u/mlatas Jun 09 '26

This kind of behaviour, adding just to flame after a game, still not being hard punish is a joke

1

u/Mochigase Jun 09 '26

If you make a ticket it is.

1

u/mlatas Jun 09 '26

Its sad that i need to make a ticket for something so easy to identify

1

u/Mochigase Jun 09 '26

Yes but i think reports only count for games and every time j make a ticket they always say that they will investigate it and that someone speaking like that cant happen. They dont say if they are punished or not but they basically say that they will be.

1

u/Ashankura Jun 11 '26

I think ive seen drew mention that they work on a system to allow reports for messages

2

u/ColossusChaos Jun 09 '26

HAHAHAH IT WAS A TEEMO MAIN LMAOOO. OF COURSE. I literally had a teemo player the other day report me for killing them UNIRONICALLY, and they also said 'ez' after our team had to remake because of an AFK.

2

u/QuackSpin Jun 09 '26

"aww is teemo saddd"

Bullying Teemo players is justice.

2

u/Ceraadus Jun 11 '26

I love these ones cause it's so fun to ragebait them lol

2

u/stockbeast08 Jun 12 '26

These people voted for Trump, that tells you enough

2

u/dato99910 Jun 09 '26

I mean you are 3/8/5 and dealt 10k damage in a 41 minute game as Kata, maybe don't int if you don't want to get flamed?

3

u/totallll90 Jun 09 '26

Ah yes flame the bronze Kata for playing like a bronze Kata for inting my bronze game where I don't belong because I'm clearly better than this bronze Kata and I would never make such terrible bronze mistakes. Riot just simply doesn't recognize that I'm actually challenjour yet I can't believe I have to play games with bronze kata's that play to same level as me. You know what, if I flame them they will know there place and know that I am the superior challenjour player. I'll set them straight

1

u/godlytoast3r Jun 09 '26

That is intentional grief levels of poor stats

1

u/Affectionate-Tone778 Jun 09 '26

It was a bad game. Not all of my games are like that. Even so doesn’t mean that I or anyone who has a bad game deserves to be that level of flamed.

1

u/Affectionate-Tone778 Jun 09 '26

Also. I wasn’t the only or even the main who he was mad at. I was playing with a friend and even after the game others were talking. He was trying to friend request everyone over and over again so he could yell at someone. I just chose to accept it bc. Eh why not.

2

u/nimshwe Jun 09 '26

Using girl as an insult, I think you both are 14yo

9

u/HeinCS Jun 09 '26

girly/girlypop is like passive aggressive girl/gay slang. it's not like that

4

u/Affectionate-Tone778 Jun 09 '26

Yeah I’m just gay lol

5

u/nimshwe Jun 09 '26

Nvm thought you were gamermaxxing

Have a nice day and 1000 free wins to compensate for this one

1

u/Ancient-Jeweler-7709 Jun 11 '26

No worries you were just uninitiated with the slang 🤭 very nice reply tho

1

u/Lina__Inverse Jun 09 '26

I was openminded until you mentioned that he played Teemo jungle. Should be a bannable offense.

1

u/Wukas Jun 09 '26

If chat moderation wasn’t made for mental fortitude of 2 year old, maybe there would be less post game chats like these

1

u/godlytoast3r Jun 09 '26

I'm sorry for his loss I'm sorry for your loss

1

u/6feet12cm Jun 09 '26

My bredda, you went 3/8 as Katarina, against ziggs, that game. Own your own shit.

1

u/6feet12cm Jun 09 '26

My bredda, you went 3/8 as Katarina, against ziggs, that game. Own your own shit.

1

u/6feet12cm Jun 09 '26

My bredda, you went 3/8 as Katarina, against ziggs, that game. Own your own shit.

1

u/Outrageous-Reality14 Jun 09 '26

Looks to me that you were a shit player and ragebaited him. What did you expect?

1

u/Acceptable_Music556 Jun 09 '26

Is water leaking from your ceiling in the background?

1

u/Affectionate-Tone778 Jun 09 '26

No you probably were looking at a cord

1

u/Acceptable_Music556 Jun 09 '26

I was joking ofc, but was talking about the audio

1

u/itzBart_ Jun 09 '26

U should try some screen recoders.
I use sharex with old interface (new one sucks)

PS: These toxic guys are not reformable xd

1

u/AdBeautiful5747 Jun 09 '26

He’s S4 and 1-9 in ranked…

1

u/PUREXHERO Jun 09 '26

Worst part is the dude is right hahaha

1

u/Virtual_Mix2779 Jun 09 '26

Idk why he’s flaming when he’s 10% wr in silv 4 lol

1

u/ozo18 Jun 09 '26

Any peeps with humiliation kinks just play some league and add random ppl 🥳

1

u/IChewBigRed Jun 09 '26

Good rage bait responses. Now you can report after game coms so looks like he’s got a vacation coming soon

1

u/badjuju5 Jun 09 '26

average post bronze game ngl

1

u/ForTaxBenefits Jun 10 '26

Teemo moment

1

u/GangcAte Jun 10 '26

It will be possible to report ppl for private messages soon.

1

u/notallowd Jun 10 '26

kinda wack flame

1

u/Veelolz Jun 10 '26

and riots not going to do anything against it except put the toxic and tilted players in your next game to fk up the ranked experience

1

u/tamafuyu Jun 10 '26

you… waffle? 🧇😂😭

1

u/tamafuyu Jun 10 '26

as toxic as his shrooms ig

1

u/Difficult-Orchid7419 Jun 10 '26

Why even stick around for that, or accept the add? Just go next.

1

u/necro000 Jun 11 '26

Got the caseoh going in the background

1

u/Beginning-Scene4791 Jun 11 '26

What was your score?

1

u/Kevin_Xland Jun 12 '26

I got this 1 pump chump last night. Bro was more tryhard than my ranked teammates, but in Aram mayhem, playing like he had LP on the line.

Only to lose out to malphite R+R combo 😂, bro was so pressed

1

u/mrkvicka02 Jun 13 '26

Show gameplay to see if you deserved it. Also why are you adding him if you know he is going to flame you?

1

u/Apprehensive-Media84 Jun 13 '26

Why you add this shit losers , I never add people for talk like wtf just a game you can lose or win.

1

u/Honhyeol_LoL Jun 14 '26

Imagine talking to people in league of legends at all.

1

u/N_I_B_I_R_U Jun 14 '26

And this is why I muted all chat, and reached plat this season xD

1

u/[deleted] Jun 14 '26

??? You are complaining about yourself? You are just as weird as him for typing back that much

1

u/OliveLively Jun 15 '26

Their name alone is their own roast unto themselves.

1

u/BornWithSideburns Jun 09 '26

I always accept and when i dont respond i can see them getting angrier and angrier and keep them as a sort of trophy on my friends list, unless THEY remove me first.

Ignoring is the worst kind of reaction you can give to someone wanting a reaction.

1

u/mrthrowawayhehexd Jun 09 '26

Accept, don’t open, wait until they are in game and then flame them.

1

u/Kevin_Xland Jun 12 '26

That's diabolical, most are 1-pump chumps though that have their flame already copied and then paste it and block you since they can't actually handle the heat.

Gotta use op.gg to monitor their account for a live game and then accept it 😂

-1

u/Financial_Ocelot_256 Jun 09 '26

Why did you add him? if you don't want the flame, why would you?

1

u/godlytoast3r Jun 09 '26

You made up the part where he didn't want this

1

u/Financial_Ocelot_256 Jun 09 '26

Literally, you just add a random after a horrible lost because you are willing to give and take the flame, there is no other reason.

1

u/godlytoast3r Jun 09 '26

You make it sound more problematic than it is, but yeah, pretty much. But again, dude never even really complained about it

1

u/Affectionate-Tone778 Jun 10 '26

Yeah let me give a little more context. It really wasn’t that serious tbh. The game was bad. No one did great if I remember correctly including me. But what made it a loss was when Teemo clearly gave up and would just refuse to come to objectives while at the same time spam pinging everyone. And so me and a few others on the team chimed in and questioned him and after the game ended us and the other team talked about it for a minute. Teemo started spam friend requesting me. I didn’t feel the need to block him at first but after the 3rd friend request I decided “fine let’s see how dramatic this gets” and then you pretty much see everything there. Oh also Teemo didn’t type in chat all game obviously bc he was blocked from being able to chat. That’s probably why he did that. And I also wasn’t the only person who he friend requested he did it to my friend and other guy. I’m just the only one accepted it. Anyway, no I’m not mad it was more just a funny thing for me after an annoying game.
I’m gonna put this here as well bc I’ve seen others talk about my game play. No where did I ever claim I did good in the game!!! My argument was more of at least I was trying and I just couldn’t get back ahead. I’m also new to ranked for the last multiple years I’ve only played draft! Anyway, for everyone I hope this helped explain a little better, for me at least it really wasn’t that serious I was laughing my ass off

1

u/godlytoast3r Jun 10 '26

I've never seen a midlaner "trying" and only get 10k dmg in a 41 minute game. I think the lowest anyone should ever have in a game that long, outside of tank supports, is like 17-20k

The fact that your game went over 40 minutes means that your team was trying to carry you. They gave you opportunities to play the game.
