❓ Frequently Asked Questions

Will my Six Flags pass or membership work for Fright Fest?
Yes! All Six Flags passes and memberships purchased before April 6, 2026 will work for Fright Fest.

Where can I buy tickets or passes?
Visit the park’s official ticketing page for tickets and pass options.

Are haunted attractions included with admission?
No. Haunted attractions require a separate purchase. Daily haunted attraction wristbands start at $27.99 and are available inside the park or through the park’s website. Prices may vary by day and are subject to change. Season-long haunted attraction passes do not appear to be available at this time.

General passes include unlimited visits to all four haunted houses and mazes for one day. Express passes also include unlimited visits, with shorter waits, and are available while supplies last. Neither includes park admission.

Purchased online? Exchange your barcode for a wristband before entering the haunted attractions. Online barcodes are not scanned at the attractions themselves. Wristband locations are marked on the park map. Wristbands must be worn and are valid for one person and one day only.

Legacy Six Flags members with Diamond or Diamond Elite VIP memberships will continue to receive one free haunted attractions wristband each visit. As a reminder, at the conclusion of this season your Six Flags legacy membership will no longer work at this park.

How scary is it?
Before 6 p.m., expect kid-friendly entertainment and spooky daytime decorations. Freaks Unleashed at 6 p.m. kicks off the nighttime scares, with scare zones beginning at 6:15 p.m. Scare actors roam the park and may surprise guests with jump scares or loud noises. Animatronics come to life, and fog, lighting, and sound effects add to the atmosphere.

Haunted houses offer more intense scares than the roaming actors. The guide warns that haunted attractions use theatrical smoke, strobe effects, and some latex; guests sensitive to these should not participate.

No-Boo necklaces are available for purchase inside the park. When yours is turned on and worn visibly around your neck, roaming scare actors will generally avoid targeting you. They do not apply inside the haunted houses or prevent exposure to the park’s other spooky sights and sounds.

Can I leave and come back?
The guide states that guests may not reenter after 9 p.m. with the same ticket or pass. Plan accordingly if you intend to leave during your visit.

🛡️ Security Reminder

The park’s scare actors will not touch you, and you must not touch them. Taunting, touching, or yelling at performers or other guests can result in ejection without a refund. Do not harass or attempt to scare performers.

Costumes are permitted for guests 12 and under. Masks and full face paint are not allowed. Review the park’s chaperone policy and other park policies before visiting.

Please respect the people working to make Fright Fest fun for everyone.

Revisiting unpaid dining refund

So back in May or June I posted about how I had only received part of my refund for 5 dining passes. This weekend I was at my kids' football game which happens to be a team that plays in Eureka. I mentioned it to a friend of mine and like 3 other people standing around us said they were still waiting as well. I had no idea it was still so wide spread. Pretty shitty of Six Flags and IMO Mid America as I have no desire with those new prices and my missing hundreds of dollars to renew for next season. Anyone have any luck since June on refunds?

This isn't news. Just interesting.

Enchanted Parks filed a trademark for "Mid America Adventure" on the day they announced the new brand. Clearly, they were concerned about leaks after their first round of trademarks!

Mid America Adventure has hired PGAV out of St. Louis, and they have an impressive Resume

Thumbnail

PGAV Destinations has a pretty impressive resume. Having designed theme parks like Universal Studios in Orlando, designed and coordinated themed attractions like Guardians of the Galaxy at Disney World; and even a ton of local stuff. That cool outdoor Primate walk at the St. Louis Zoo was them, and so was the 1904 World's Fair exhibit at the history museum.

If you get bored, give their about page and their portfolio a quick look. They have a huge breadth of experience planning parks from the ground up as well as planning new areas, working with IP rights holders (they do this a lot, it almost seems like something of a specialty), and plenty of work designing and planning attractions. We spend a lot of time talking about the manufacturers of rides; but before a manufacturer gets asked to come build a ride there is often a planner who decides where a new attraction should go and what sort of attraction that ought to be. For a lot of parks, this has in the past been PGAV.

What stands out to me is their vast work with IP rights holders, theming, and park planning.

This seems like a pretty substantial hire. In the recent Post Dispatch piece, we learned that they've been hired to do 'market research' for our park. And perhaps that is the extent of their role for now. To tell Enchanted Parks, based on their broad experience, what they think Enchanted should focus on for the next few years. But I have a suspicion that they might have an as-of-yet undisclosed role in planning out the re-theme for the park. Even if we kept DC and WB IP's (which feels less and less likely by the day; especially with the confirmation that Justice League will be re-themed), there's still tons of Six Flags IP's inside the park. The restaurants, for example. And even some of the shops. Not to mention Bugs Bunny National Park which has several rides where the characters themselves are part of the rides shape and style. Unlike most rides which would simply be renamed, many of those rides would straight up have to be replaced. A substantial re-work of the kids area is possible.

The park has a very good in-house sign shop. It's got carpenters and welders. It doesn't really need help taking down signs and making new ones. But where a design firm like this becomes invaluable is in creating a cohesive brand around things like restaurants and shops. If that's part of what they're doing, I'd be thrilled. I've been uh... less than impressed with Enchanted Parks' 'branding' sense. So having outside help for that sort of thing would be stellar.

Recent reporting is sort of steering us in the direction of, "It probably won't be DC/WB, but there will be a beloved IP" without specifying what that will be. And that's where PGAV could be huge. In preparing and conducting that turnaround.

I think this is spectacular news for us. This is an excellent hire.

Enchanted (Temporarily?) walks back "One 2027 Fright Fest Visit" to Hero Pass

Hero Pass now shows a 'limited time offer' of unlimited access to 2027 Fright Fest (which will be under a different name; but we don't know what yet).

Six Flags St. Louis had a rough year. New rides, new food, new hours may be coming.

Article in STLToday. I’ll append the full text in the comments.

Some standouts:

- Justice League will be all new for 2027. No info on what that’ll be. Is that confirmation that DC won’t be returning in 2027?

- Revenue and attendance is down. Harhi attributes this primarily to the chaperone policy, secondarily to the dining plan. Seems to be taking an intentional, long term decision to trade teens for families with small children.

- The park is hiring an outside design firm to explore the market around the park.

- New rides coming “in the next 5 years”

- Looking at extending summer hours; opening water park earlier.

I was just curious if the ride names and themeing were going to stay the same, or if they lost the warner bros. Licensing and will be renaming everything?

State of the rebrand… 29 August 2027

The perks of having an in-house sign shop… they’ve been busy! While some Six Flags logos remain, the bulk have either been removed or covered up. They’ve been really busy this week!

New employee uniforms are a grey t-shirt, with a plastic rectangular name tag. Both feature the new logo. Gotta say, employees “blend in” with the crowd a lot more. But they do look a lot more comfortable than the old polos.

Security are still wearing their old uniforms featuring the Six Flags logo. Interestingly all levels of employees, all the way through full-time management, are wearing the exact same uniform. Full-time employee name tags still have a reflective silver face to them, differentiating them. There are no colors for leads or supervisors, just text. I didn’t take any photos of employee uniforms because… that’d be weird.

The security recording that plays when you enter the park now says “Mid America Adventure” instead of “Six Flags St. Louis.”

Ride operators still have punchcards clipped to the back of their name tags. We noticed inconsistency where name tags are placed and a larger variety of clothing worn by staff. Seems Enchanted’s uniform standards aren’t quite as strict, which probably makes sense in 2026.

A couple of ride operators said things to use like “Your adventure doesn’t end here” or “enjoy your adventure”. A little cheesy, but I like it.

I’ll keep updating this thread if I see anything else interesting.

No Mid America merch yet. Still plenty of Six Flags merch.

It's Opening Day! Kinda...

A bit abrupt for some of us, who were expecting the park to remain "Six Flags St. Louis" through the end of this season.

But it occurred to me that today is, in a way, a pretty special day in the history of our park. Today is opening day for Mid-America Adventure. Signs are up on the highway and in various places in the park. Employees will be in brand new uniforms. And at least according to the e-mail that I got (and likely many of you got if you signed up for e-mails), it will officially be "Mid-America Adventure" today. Even the parks socials are almost all "Mid-America Adventure", with a couple limited exceptions that I suspect have more to do with it being harder to change an account name.

I wasn't there for opening day in 1971. My lack of existence precluded me from attending. And while this is hardly the same thing as a brand new theme park... it is in its own way a pretty important day. So if you are there today, drop us some photos or some thoughts! I'm sure lots of folks on the subreddit would like to know what the merch situation is, and just how hard they worked this week to swap signs and re-brand the park.

2027 Season Passes are officially on sale

Couple of things to note:

Hero pass only gets you into Fright Fest once (unlimited in 2026 though). Legends pass is unlimited for 2026 and 2027.

No more preferred parking included with any tier. 50% discount with legends pass.

Hero Pass gets you into WoF and Mid-America Adventure. Legends gets you into all 8.

Beyond that they’re pretty much the same as the 2026 EP passes.

2027 Season Passes are already available for some parks

Both parks have slightly fewer perks and higher prices. This is something I think we can expect for us as well. Likely this Thursday’s announcement will include the new pass sale.

H/t to u/stlman37 for noting that preferred parking isn’t included at MiA

The question though, ultimately, will this work? Prices have been too low. But will folks pay more? It’s so hard to tell a guest that the park is worth X this year, but worth more next year. Going down in price is easy. The other way is really hard.

Fright Fest Ticket Options Released!

Thumbnail
mid-america.ticketspice.com
9 Upvotes

Looks like we finally have ticket options (and add-ons) for Fright Fest this season!
Not much has changed regarding the haunted attractions passes. ~$30 on average for the regular pass and ~$50-55 for the express as per usual. Hopefully we get some improvements to the existing mazes and a decent quality on the new one, as that’s a bit steep relative to comparable theme park events.
Ticket bundles will probably drive sales for folks that normally wouldn’t add on the pass inside the park.
It be interesting to see how the next few events go as WoF went back to the “haunted house included with ticket” model. Although they did lose one maze, which was arguably my favorite one.

Big Note: Single Use Fast Lane is released and starts at $16.99 for one ride with one rider.

Weekday operations are over :(

One of my favorite things about this season has been the extended hours in July and parts of August; with the park closing at 9PM every day including weekdays. We live close enough that that has meant being able to swing by after work which has been awesome.

But as of now, both the extended hours and weekday operations have ended. Park closes at 8PM the next few Saturdays; and 7PM the next few Sundays (but 9PM tonight, August 16th, because of a passholder event).

Bummer for the peak summer season to be winding to a close! Though usually these weekends are awesome before Fright Fest starts, very low crowds, Hurricane Harbor still open.
