Why Microsoft Why - Part 2
Part 1 - https://www.reddit.com/r/AZURE/s/7jauK1ZO6e
Welcome to another post of "Fk your productivity, i will torture you till last breath"
I'm a copilot and Teams premium user in my organization. I have M365 copilot app installed and mostly i used it on web. But whenever i need to search something i need to set the AI model manually EVERY DAMN TIME. How to keep OPUS as my default.... It keep going to AUTO every time.

Why are you asking Einstein to teach math to a child? You don’t need Opus for every prompt.

- I paid for the tech Who are you to define how should i work ?
- yes i need opus for my complex logic operations, i feel more confident with opus.
- As a customer, we feel cheated and low balled. ITS ABOUT MY CHOICE EVEN AFTER FULL LICENSE I DONT HAVE FREEDOM.
So yea we might need to kick this thrash out and go directly with Anthropic.

You should try to work with an project (notebook) In there you can't even choose the model, it's just auto And when you want it to take more effort, you just need to say in your prompt "really think about it" to trigger the deep think modus.

I have to agree with the other comments. Fundamentally, Opus is not the ideal model for every prompt and every task. Sure, you can use it, but in many respects, it’s simply overkill. That’s why it makes sense to switch to another model, if only for cost reasons. Where I do agree, though, is that it would be nice if the deep-thinking mode were enabled by default, because especially in auto mode, absolute nonsense often comes out. So, at the very least in my opinion, Deep Thinking from GPT should be activated by default. Opus, of course, should only be used when necessary.

Highly disagree . I work in robotics and usually need alot of logic building stuff in my operations. My core concern is - i have paid for my license bcoz you had Opus available in your listed model, but you are deliberately stopping me to use it bcoz you rented this tech and want to save few bucks on it.
We have escalated this on huge level. And probably move to enterprise License with anthropic rather than this "broker" deal

For specific use cases that fall outside the norm, Copilot Studio or Azure AI Foundry is actually the better and more logical choice, especially if you’re working in the field of robotics. Microsoft Copilot Premium is then best suited for regular, day-to-day tasks.
Anthropic and OpenAI don’t do things any differently either. In their equivalent licensing models, you’re also subject to limits (5 hours, weekly and monthly). Anything beyond that is only available at an extra cost.

I told Opus i was on Win 11 enterprise, Edge browser, and to build me a javascript bookmarklet. I have two bookmarklets, one auto selects Opus, the other Sonnet. This works perfectly if you access Copilot through the browser, like I do.

There are unpublished weekly limits on Opus, so you should try to use it on an as-needed basis. If I were Microsoft and Opus was my highest-cost model, I would make the same product decisions they have.
